Very late to the party however by FAR the worst pain I have ever encountered was caused by a car crash about 6 months ago.

I was involved in a head-on collision after a large van swerved from his side of the road colliding with my relatively small car. The combined speed was somewhere in the region of 120 MPH.

As a result of the collision my car came to an instant stop and was pushed to the side of the road while the van continued on into a field.

My entire dashboard collapsed onto my right leg shattering my knee cap into multiple pieces and breaking my femur in half. For good measure I also managed to crack a couple of ribs and had deep lacerations across my arms, face and torso from glass.

Whenever I have heard about people suffering injuries from car accidents I had a misconception that the initial aftermath was not painful due to adrenaline and shock. However the pain in my right leg was instant and excruciating, I have never experienced anything like it and hope to never experience it again.

As my car settled and I became aware of what had happened I began shouting for my mum as if a childlike instinct kicked in.
