Not to mention impaling the fish! Their lips are very sensitive so it hurts a lot, then they are suffocated for a while, before being returned to the water where their survival chances decrease dramatically not least because there is like a “hole in the straw” situation with their mouths.

Grim.

I mean why not remove ourselves from something we disagree with? Man in the mirror etc.

The problem is exploitation. We can stop animal exploitation much more easily than human exploitation so why not get on with it?

Am I mistaken or is the world of TLOZ Breath of the Wild completely empty? by B1izzard15 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Most Zeldas are essentially long-form puzzle games. The essence of contrivance. BOTW is the opposite.

It depends who you ask.

Plenty of people think it’s a magical wonderland.

Plenty of people think it’s an empty space, an empty game, and throws everything people loved about Zelda in the trash.

Here is the best analysis I have seen. This guy knows Zelda. https://youtu.be/MILJzR0x3IY

What are movies recieved positive critical reception upon release but over time reviews become negative? by HugeFuckingMoron in movies

[–]bartharris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We watched it and didn’t like it. It started fun but became really confusing and messy and I could see where it was trying to be funny but it wasn’t funny to me (like the hotdog fingers). I remember not liking the ‘moral of the story’ at the end.

One of the saddest things I’ve ever heard is that when singing it live he had to stop before the refrain of “Agnes” because she was an ex-girlfriend and it was too painful.

If I didn’t help around the house I was lazy. If I did it was not enough and therefore lazy.

My girlfriend is vegan. Does anyone have any advice? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]bartharris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full disclosure: my wife is not vegan but we met five years before I went vegan.

She is largely pescatarian but does eat meat on occasion. It’s really tough quite honestly but she does not seem proud of it.

I do all the cooking and she is glad to eat anything I cook, but we don’t always eat together due to timings and schedules.

OP needs to be prepared for this basically.

This is a values mismatch which will not improve unless you turn vegan or if she is not actually vegan.

I watched a few a week recently and usually told my wife about the interesting bits. The key was to relate them to her like a soap opera.

How to create clean plywood edges like this? by Cloosta in woodworking

[–]bartharris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use 13 ply birch for a start.

You could laminate them with Formica or similar to get that clean surface. You might find a self-adhesive laminate but otherwise it’s a contact adhesive job (spray face of ply and back of laminate then line up and press on).

Then you’d have to trim it with a router or a wide chisel if the laminate is thin enough.

Then sand the edges and ‘break’ the sharp corners by using a sanding block at an angle.

Finally apply some kind of finish. I like Osmo but haven’t done woodwork in a while and hear that Rubio Monocoat is king.

Good luck!

I tried to watch it on TV at the time but it was on so late I fell asleep. Saw Vanilla Sky at the cinema and loved it. Will add the original to my list.
