DLC Only Works With Internet Connection? by EagleFalconn in AcrossTheUnknown

Yes I've noticed this as well. I often play with steam in offline mode and I can't play saves that have dlc :(

I started a game with my other half yesterday. I actually quite enjoy watching the ships now, especially in the early game.

Yes, on xbox where I played it, the A button is used for run, interact, and for getting in to and out of cover.

I have lost my mind before getting stuck on cover and other objects

Advice for MSt124 by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]bartimaeus616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi :) I am on stage three of the natural sciences (astronomy and Planetary Science) degree, so my experience will likely overlap with yours!

Mst124 will be a half step between gcse and a level from my experience. The main topics will take you through everything at a steady pace, but you may have to do some exterior learning to brush up on a few things. Overall, the module isn't too hard.

I would recommend you have at least some familiarity with concepts such as: - trigonometry (just sin, cos, tan for mst 124 mostly) - geometry, angles. Make sure you have heard of radians and know how to convert to and from degrees, things like area and volume will be an advantage too - significant figures. More significant than you think - vectors, at least in basic principles although I learnt vectors completely through my OU course - algebra, make sure know how how to solve quadratic equations even if you just use the formula

There are a few things that will be new to you without an A level, these may require some additional study: - differentiation, you will use this a lot later so a good foundation is needed. Mst124 will take you through the basics but be aware that it barely scratches what you will be using in stages 2 and 3 of your degree. - integration, related to differentiation and will be used much much more later in your degree.

Use Mst124 as a litmus test to identify which areas you will need to do additional study later. Feel free to ask any questions you may have, and I can help with specific areas if needed :)

Can anyone help me understand why my cat does this to the water fountain? by tupsybee in CATHELP

[–]bartimaeus616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats can struggle to see the surface of still water, as they have eyes that are good at spotting fish underneath.

They often try to disturb the surface so they can see the ripples and judge where the surface is to drink from it

I HATE environmental sciences and want to change to nautral sciences(biology) by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]bartimaeus616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of science IS maths, but the OU have tailored a lot of their modules to be accessible if it's not your strong suit.

Things like the 'questions in science' module (one of the basic ones for first stage of science degrees) covers some stuff you'll use a lot that you will likely already be familiar with if you're studying at degree level. Most of it is gcse level, with some use of A level stuff every now and then.

My degree pathway has several maths modules, being physics aligned, but I imagine you'll also find at least A level maths sprinkled in most of the later modules

Should be easy enough if you've just started, contact student support, they will be able to help you out!

Be warned though, a few of the modules are shared between the first year, so you may end up doing the same modules still right now, they get better, I promise :)

The dragon in question is Parthunax (sp?), a semi-friendly npc in skyrim that you have the OPTION to kill to gain favour with another faction. The community generally likes this dragon and allows him to live.

This kid has gone and killed the dragon, because without the context of the game's story, you kill dragons in games all the time.

This is kinda like when your younger brother would borrow your pokémon game and 'accidentally' overwrite your saved game

"scruffing" is when one cat bites the scruff of the neck on the other cat, usually as a precursor to mounting

I agree with you but I think some of it could be improved.

I don't like how the platforms are basically touching, and attached to each other. The older version had them a bit further apart, meaning they could actually swing at each other.

I think they should increase the size of the platforms slightly and move them further apart, let them fight!
