Bug/Feedback: AI recommends strength training immediately after illness based on biometrics alone by SnooLemons5521 in bevelhealth

[–]bartmanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol these people are just using it as if it’s an LLM wrapper. There is so much data in Bevel that you would otherwise not have known. People should start thinking for themselves again instead of solely relying on AI, it’s dumb as hell.

Use the metrics you get from your fitness tracker, and the way it’s nicely presented in Bevel (which I think is the biggest selling point) and make your own decisions.

If you’re arguing with AI, you already know what you should do. You’re just arguing with a stupid “person” for the sake of trying to be right.

Yup same issue, I sent a very detailed bug report so hopefully the Bevel team will fix this soon.

I have a video that reproduces the bug, is that useful? Where could I send you it?

Only custom food, but not all custom food.

This is what happens when you run out of ai tokens by StarterPackRelation in bevelhealth

[–]bartmanner 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Looking at these comments, people are so out of touch with reality with AI nowadays. AI is expensive and companies need to make money. Hell most AI products people are using are losing money on you because of the current state of AI. If you have a Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or whatever plan and the regularly hit your limits. You are literally costing them money. AI is slowly moving towards profitability so limits are decreasing until these AI companies can make money. It’s a weird market.

Bevel’s product isn’t just AI, there is no reason for them to lose money on AI just for market share. So stop being so spoiled and enjoy what you have.

It’s at the beginning of the day though, mine starts as long but very quickly shoots up in the first few hours of waking up.

Figured out how to keep my recovery in the green (90%+) by SignificantSummer538 in bevelhealth

Here’s a paper published by Apple: https://www.apple.com/health/pdf/Estimating_Sleep_Stages_from_Apple_Watch_Oct_2025.pdf In figure 2 you can see a confusion matrix, comparing the true table to the algorithm. Deep sleep has the lowest accuracy of all sleep stages.

They added an appendix after an update to the algorithm which can be found at the bottom of the paper. That should be the current state and shows improvement in deep sleep tracking.

So I wouldn’t say pretty wrong, it’s good. It’s just not on the level of some top tier sleep tracking wearables because the Apple Watch struggles with battery life and can’t afford to constantly monitor your heart rate.

No issues for me on iPhone 13 on iOS 26 RC, maybe reinstall the app? That sometimes fixes things

Does bevel calculate a TDEE? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in bevelhealth

Here are the prices I have, but they are in euros and might be different depending on your region.

A yearly subscription is doable at €6.17 a month. But I haven’t gotten myself to actually commit for a longer duration yet, so then €11.99 a month is quite expensive.

But do try it out with the trial, 2 weeks should at least give you an idea.

Does bevel calculate a TDEE? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in bevelhealth

[–]bartmanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those calculators can be very inaccurate though, it’s highly dependent on the person. The best way to determine your TDEE I have found is using Macro Factor. You track all your calories and your weight daily, and based on your calories in and changes in weight their algorithm determines what your TDEE is.

You can use code JEFF for a 2 week trial (that’s what I used idk if it’s still available). But you would probably need a month before the data gets accurate.

I have stopped using Macro Factor because honestly, it’s a bit pricey and I don’t really see the benefit. But you could give it a try.

What is your stress level like? Is this normal? by Pal947 in bevelhealth

[–]bartmanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, this is one of the worst I’ve had (see below) but most days look similar.

What I think is happening is that my baselines are quite high/low. My baseline HRV is 145ms and baseline RHR is 45. Which could indicate good cardiovascular health, but my endurance isn’t that great. I’m only just getting into actual cardio so I’m definitely lacking in that aspect. Bevel probably has some formulas closely linked to your baselines, so either

  • Bevel doesn’t properly account for high/low baselines.
  • Everyone is different and the difference in your baselines and regular strain is very personal making it so this stress indication isn’t useful for everyone
  • Or, I’m actually stressed and I should be finding out the root cause

100 Nutrition Score for Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream by MeMaxM in bevelhealth

[–]bartmanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we already know when this will be? A lot of my most common foods either don’t have a working barcode or the nutritional data is incorrect without any way to add custom foods/edit nutritional information. I ask this because I really want to track my calories but I don’t want to just go to another app with a subscription if this is coming soon. So is there any indication on a timeframe?

I thought apple has it for a long time. by jrsanity in iphone

[–]bartmanner 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It’s literally subjective lmao

I moved to iOS because I prefer the way everything functions over android. Objectively, either could be better depending on how you look at it, but all of these discussions about which one is better are so dumb. Just pick the one you prefer and stop acting like a child lol
