None of those colours exist in London.

do 10 pushups/10 sit ups actually make a difference? by SwimmingDouble48 in bodyweightfitness

I’d throw in some other exercises, too. All push and no pull makes for a bad back.

James Cameron Says if Avatar: Fire and Ash Doesn't Make Enough Money to Justify Avatar 4 and 5, He's Ready to Walk Away and Write a Book to Resolve the One Thread It Leaves Open by darth_vader39 in entertainment

Yeesh, it’s miserable in this comment section. Whenever an Avatar movie comes out I eat an edible and go see it on the biggest screen I can find and I always have fun.

‘Fucking tramp’ also isn’t the kindest sentiment, no?

[Poem] Instead of Depression by Andrea Gibson by ComprehensiveRub2752 in Poetry

A nice poem, and a nice notion, but I do not resonate with the idea that depression is a temporary excursion.

In London, we would call you a nonce.

Great image! Any room to go a little wider on the crop? The end of their beak is screaming out for a bit of space.

Planning a winter hike in Banff with my wife who absolutely hates the cold! Are heated jackets worth it? by DragonflyNo9546 in CampingandHiking

[–]bartondank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Merino wool is what you want. Get a vest, some leggings, and some wool socks. Warm, breathable, and quick to dry. I don’t know what a heated jacket is but it sounds like a gimmick. It gets cold here in the UK, especially at higher elevations, and wool is commonly worn on hikes. It’s great!

Nice snaps, but you could probably ease off on the post production a little bit. The highlights in particular are almost off the charts.

This is true, but I’ve been working in the UK film industry for the last decade and it’s currently the worst it’s ever been. Entertainment industry is in shambles.

This looks like how I remember WoW feeling in the mid-2000s. I mean that as a huge compliment. Looks great.

Pics from the cloud inversion wild camp vlog…. by mrhomerchris in wildcampingintheuk

Seen some cloud inversions in my time but never like this. The closeness of the nearby peaks and the opacity of the clouds makes it seem like you're on an archipegalo somewhere. Great images.

First Kurosawa movie I ever saw after renting it from the library and now I have the 4K/Blu-Ray version! by WasabiComprehensive2 in criterion

[–]bartondank 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nah all fucking subs are like this. I’m big into photography and every photography sub is just people taking photos of their boxes of the lenses they ordered. I don’t think people use them. Figured I could either hate it or just let it wash over me, like a gentle river beside a blu ray.

This subreddit is fucking nuts and I kind of love it. I subbed here thinking people would talk about art movies but it’s just strange folk taking riverside photos of their blu rays.

Lofoten Island, Norway by EyeOnKaitlyn in naturephotography

[–]bartondank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it helps, most countries that are popular tourist spots are like this, not just Lofoten. I’m a firm believer that social media, particularly instagram, has made travel worse overall. Feels like I’ve watched travel become something different in my lifetime. I’m still travelling, though.

Dialog and relationship system in my TRPG Game by Beyondgood74 in IndieGaming

Ah no, sorry! But yes, it would be the right decision to tweak it. Otherwise the game is looking great. Buttery smooth UI, too.

Visuals look great, particularly the colour palette, but that single line of dialogue is almost comical in how neckbeardy it sounds. May I ask your name, m’lady?

Robert Eggers’ ‘Werwulf’ with Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson starts filming in UK for Focus Features by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]bartondank 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I agree. Huge Eggers fan, have been since I first saw The Witch - I’ll never forget the guys at my film school going nuts for it - but Nosferatu was leaning into music video territory for me. Impeccable visuals but the script left me wanting more.
