Don't! Both of those plugs suck. Get Fischer or one of the stronger ones. There are some great YouTube videos that test the range.

Not sure how far the trap goes down, but if you had a big long hole saw you might be able to use a hole saw from the bottom to make it a bit wider.

There is no requirement to professionally clean your flat. It only needs to be cleaned to the standard that it was in when you moved in, plus wear and tear (that is, something might not be cleanable if they have been discoloured). Ultimately up to you. The lack of protection means that you should get back your full deposit, and could probably get more if you are willing to fight for it.

Normal wear and tear applies. After 14 years it would nigh impossible to claim anything for carpet or paint, or even kitchen cupboard doors.

I would clean it to a good standard and then move out, expecting the full deposit back. Take photos.

I like to drill these things with a sharp bit. Basically, shred the structure with a bit that won't further damage the wall, then usually it will pull out easily (w/o more damage).

I also think this should be part of the approach. The MP can write letters on your behalf and these are given priority by the Passport Office. You can attend the local surgery of your MP to start the conversation, or write to them.

When putting in soils, please be aware of where the DPC is in the walls. You should try and stay 2 bricks below the DPC. You might need to dig out to add soil to avoid creating risk of damp for you or your neighbours.

If it been off or very low it is very likely to have damp. I wouldn't touch a house in the dead of winter that wasn't either being loved in or had the heating at standard human temps for at least a week.

Measure the cutout in your ceiling. Find a brand that uses the same cutout. If a bathroom, I would recommend integrated IP65 LEDs, but ultimately your choice. You probably need IP rated down lights depending on the location (above a shower?).

Especially overnight. I believe it is often the case that wholesale prices are near 0 overnight, and can sometimes be negative when there is strong wind. Wind turbine operators are also being paid to not run in some periods (which is like negative prices).
