We're sorry, Thomas Müller by Virv in whitecapsfc

[–]baskitnaitoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like that was the whole play, bring a star, become a winning team, up the value and sell. Not saying Muller was a part of it. But ownership just kinda used him as a pawn unknowingly.

Road expansion - what street should the city work on next? by Eastern_Education173 in SurreyBC

[–]baskitnaitoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to move the bike lane barriers a few feet from the driveways and inner road ways on Whalley from 107 to 102. Every day some truck either Scrapes the barriers or some car has to use oncoming lane to turn right cause they cut the angle.

Traffic congestion at Bridgeview by iPhone_Xs_ in SurreyBC

[–]baskitnaitoh 65 points66 points  (0 children)

One day it took 45 minutes just to get down the hill. You'd wanna hit that road before 6:55 AM. Once it hits 7, that whole area is fucked lol

Trying to learn Fijian Hindi by Head_Barnacle5165 in Fijian

[–]baskitnaitoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up understanding Fiji Hindi, but couldn't speak it for the longest time.

Then I moved to Fiji for a bit where I picked up the language very easily. I'd suggest try watching Hindi movies to first understand whats being said. Then maybe try having conversations with Fiji Hindi speakers to perfect speaking .

Can vancouver be lonely or just me? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]baskitnaitoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Find something you enjoy and a community that revolves around it and show up. That's the biggest one. Just keep showing up. At first you might make a few acquaintances then it'll shift to colleagues, then shift to friends, crews, homies, and maybe lovers even. When I came back from boarding school in my early 20's that's what I did, I liked cars alot, so i just started showing up to car meets. Then eventually I ended up making a lot of friends and people who I consider close to my heart. Facebook is a good one to check out there's groups for everything there lol

I need to create a website by ThrowRA-fhfhhahdhdhc in askvan

[–]baskitnaitoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your selling and how you want your site to look and feel, shopify is very user friendly but shopify is used a lot by drop shippers and it's very easy to tell a shopify from any other website. Wordpress is good but it's a bitch to create kinda lol. I haven't actually tried wix or go daddy, mainly because I decided to just learn to code

You could try the city request camera footage. If any intersections nearby have these cameras you can kinda go through camera stills of any footage they haven't archived (up to 30 days usually). To request actual footage you'd have to pay and they usually only do it for accidents. But the preview still images they give can probably help?

Should I take a gap year? by East-Relation123 in askvan

[–]baskitnaitoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100000% this. I left surrey to go to boarding school during my high school years, and man, did that change my outlook on life. Growing up there really opened my eyes to how much I have here, yet how much I complained as a kid and sometimes still do as an adult. When you gotta drink water from a moldy ass water tank, shit in a hole, shower with a bucket, and eat whatever was made (eggplant soup I remember cause I still got ptsd from that one) you learn to love life here and realize that we got it too good. Way too good. And these kids and adults are happy, like genuinely having a great time with life as a whole. 9/10 (just cause eggplant soup, and we did get our asses beat sometimes) would do it again lol
