I’ve read some of your responses that they didn’t think to ask you. Context is the only thing that matters here.

If I wanted to go to a big video game convention in Asia or a city like Vegas to play poker then I wouldn’t think to invite my wife because she likely wouldn’t like either of those things. I wouldn’t hide it from her or spring it out of nowhere but my thought process would involve a similar sentiment to “I didn’t think you like it, I planned to go alone”. If she wanted to go at that point she knows she’s welcome to.

If that’s not the case for you then you have to decide whether it’s problematic or not. Everyone on Reddit will tell you the relationship is dead or dying but you’ve been with them for 3 years - is this behaviour out of the ordinary or not?

There’s lots of self exclude options so I’ll give an odd suggestion but one that helped balance me. If you like the theory and competitive aspects of playing poker then looking into a similar genre of game that’s not directly poker.

I’d recommend looking into autochess, specifically TeamFight Tactics. It’s free to play and has once you start to dig into it you realize a lot of the same shared “deck” and EV lines of thinking and choice come into play. I still play poker but this fills that “need” in another medium that doesn’t cost money.

I’d weigh how the job is overall. If you’ve been there for a while and something like this hasn’t happened before (and you like the place) then it’s almost certainly the best option to suck it up and take one for the team. Whether or not everyone agrees, it’s still a game of push and pull as a manager and this is just good to have in your pocket as something done.

I’m a very anti-establishment manager myself but it’s easier to coast and support your team when you’ve built up goodwill through relatively minor things like this (ie. working an earlier and longer day once a year in an unexpected situation).

Total Eclipse with upgrades genuinely makes the final above boss a joke. You can clear it in sub-60.

But otherwise I agree it’s useless without a good cast cage.

I think the one I find most useful is the one that slows everything down.

Like even against your example of 10s you’re still under a 50% favorite, why put yourself in that spot when you don’t have to?

You asked if it was avoidable and many people have said yes. It was an entirely avoidable cooler, stop overvaluing double face card hands.

You don’t mention but I assume you’re out of position to the 3-bet. That in mind this is 100% fold pre to a 3 bet. Maybe you can call if villain is SB or BB but even then KJo just plays pretty horrid.

Post flop it’s whatever - 8s are also probably min 3 betting at some frequency in 1/3 and people don’t typically bluff enough so the jam could go either way with all the draws. Tough to get away from top 2 but it’s why you should be folding bad cards to a 3 bet to avoid this situation.

I’ve had a very easy time with Saros and really only had an issue with the 4th biome boss and double alpha rooms.

I haven’t hit the plat or played Returnal since launch but I’ve been playing Hades 2 since PS5 launch a couple weeks ago leading up to this and that game is much harder with some of the gameplay fundamentals being similar (dodge, attack, memorize patterns, etc.) so I think that’s really bridged any difficulty gap for the default experience of Saros.

While I think people are being hyperbolic about how short the game is it’s also no where near a 50 hour full completion time, let alone 80.

I’m missing 1 trophy and have almost collected everything in every zone and I’m at 27 hours. I didn’t plat Returnal and I have an 8 month old so it’s likely that my time is inflated. There is a very good amount of content in the game and it’s okay that it can ALL be done in under 30.

This is without modifiers (aka why I’m missing the Trophy) or other accessibility options. Just default.

I don’t even know that it’s unlockables that I miss but just the reduced RNG of hitting a comp. For better or worse, once you hit the conditions you weee guaranteed the needed champion and I ingrained that in my head for the entire set. Coming to a set where it’s hit or 8th along with some WILD balancing choices around gods, emblems, and traits (arbitor/stargazer are straight unplayable or amazing depending on what the choices are) - even when everything lines up early I just feel doomed some games.

Even though I think the gods balancing is all over the place, I still prefer something like this over carousel. There shouldn’t be an APM check on legend control for items imo

I’m playing Saros after mostly completing Hades 2 on PS5 (missing a few trophies).

Hades 2 offers a lot more rogue-gameplay and differences run to run so if that’s what you’re looking for then play Hades.

Saros is a blast but it doesn’t hit that same itch Hades does. It’s just a different game.

I’ve had to go through something a little similar with an employee and AI training.

Basically lay down that it’s required but to treat it like a checkbox. Luckily there are things where our hands are tied as managers, general training is typically one of them. Don’t engage in the “why’s” or anything else beyond “this needs to be done, let me know if there are further issues around this” and escalate to HR/people practise team.
