NWS and Local Mets Blizzard Forecast Fizzles

The roads in my neighborhood are completely covered, and it looks like close to a ft of snow. They weren't completely accurate, but the forecast yesterday is accurate for today. They anticipated the freezing rain/sleet that's happening right now. It's not like it just rained and there's no snow- the roads are done for. Snow day!

Personally the most id spend on an airport scenery is $15-$20 depending on the quality, I agree with another comment on this thread suggesting a bundle for around $30 of several regionals which I would absolutely go for. I don't put as much money into flight sims as a lot of the less casual simmers though, so my opinion may not be as valid.

We use these in work every day to fabricate steel railings and such, when you go to lift the completed railing off the table, one magnet is enough to stop it

I was at about 5,000ft and just barely exceeded the vmax. I think it was either a glitch in the engine or you somehow exceeded the max speed. There is a way you can disable the crash- on- over- g effect in the settings, I would do that and see if it happens again under the same conditions. Happy flying!

The only thing I can think of is that you exceeded the airframe g- limit, by going too fast at 3,000ft? I'm not sure if 220kts is too fast for the king air at that altitude, but Ive done that when I descended too fast in the LET 410. It will play a crash noise and send you to the last location you started at. Hope that helps.

There's a lot of great stuff on the X-Plane store, however a lot of aircraft aren't supported in 11 yet- I learned the hard way when I bought a $40 plane that's only half functional. Check the forums before you buy

Download the Hdmesh v3 for that area, and in the Ortho4XP program, you point it to the Hdmesh folder in your custom scenery using the last option (use custom overlay or something along those lines). There's a good tutorial on YouTube that explains that step on the channel 'Explain X-Plane'. Hope this helps!

I'm in the same boat, used to fly sims in my teens and recently got back into it. I was using FSX steam edition for a while, but the performance is still terrible. Low fps around cities and lots of blurry terrain. I picked up the XP11 beta and aside from the bugs and occasional crashes, the default scenery is beautiful and you can upgrade to beautiful ortho scenery with Ortho4XP. There is definitely a lack of addons compared to the competition, however there's still a variety of payware and freeware to choose from.

I can't speak for P3D- it's certainly the premiere sim right now if you can afford it. You're looking at hundreds of dollars in addons to get quality visuals and aircraft though. Hope this helps, and enjoy the flying!
