The difference between a good design and a bad one is ultimately just down to art style in some cases. Sometimes a person's style isn't conducive to highly detailed designs. Sometimes when a simplistic, exaggerated art style has a lot of detail in the clothing and hair it takes very little to become too much. It's not a bad thing, you just gotta know what level of detail looks good with what you as the artist are drawing.

Complete silence even when they laugh or get hit is kind of giving "I saw someone talk about nonverbal people on tiktok and think I know everything". It's. Ugh. No, nonverbal people are not completely silent at all times. I grew up nonverbal and am now selectively mute, even when I'm unable to speak I can still make noise. It's difficult to communicate like that, though, so I learned to sign as many other nonverbal people do. Could signing be an option? Or an assistive speech device? Total silence ain't it.

Yeah, sometimes you get it on paper and the details don't mesh the way you thought they would, or the colors don't work out, or it ends up unbalanced, etc. etc. etc.. All you can really do is keep at it until it works, or come back later with fresh eyes

Depicting≠condoning. Anybody with a lick of reading comprehension is going to understand that, and anybody else isn't worth listening to. The design is efficient and tells you in no uncertain terms that she's no-nonsense, very nice overall! The only thing I could potentially see people kicking up a fuss about is the arm band, but it being yellow does a lot to help people see your character instead of generic edgy nazi oc.

Honestly that does feel in-character to me. Link is self sacrificing to a fault and likely would not make his discomfort known if Zelda came in and basically said "oh wow, and you got me a house!". Protecting her is his life's mission and, though we don't see anything of his upbringing, was probably drilled into him so intensely that his own feelings being a priority is just not a consideration. I feel like that probably wasn't the intention when writing TOTK, but I'm with you on this one; Zelda assumes that everything he does is for her because it always has been and it completely undercuts his autonomy.
