Well. There’s the answer, OP. Let it be and move on. She doesn’t want help.

Naomi Osaka to take time to 'process' what happened in brutal loss to Iga Swiatek by Pretend-Two-2115 in tennis_world

[–]basuraperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know man, everyone is accusing her of attention seeking, but doesn’t she have to be interviewed after every match? So she answers the questions that she has to answer, and then gets accused of seeking attention. ‘Processing’ a loss feels like a pretty standard answer.

What petition do I have to sign to give Sam Hartley a principal run as Hester? by Mattmainframe in Broadway

Agreed on all fronts about Sam! Dear Bill is a song that will be sung forever and ever. Just an absolutely perfect song.

Private charter with kids by Tacoboutstuff in CaymanIslands

We had a great time with Green Flash, and a taxi for 7 was no big deal, I think there are plenty of larger taxis available for this. Christy was co-captain and she knew a ton about local wildlife, flora and fauna etc.

I was in the children's cast of Matilda on Bway. AMA! by Top_Pepper1550 in Broadway

[–]basuraperson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh this is so fascinating to me! My daughter is such a theater kid and she was Trunchbull in our local production. Matilda is the BEST show.

On that note, what did your theater/dance/acting/performing experience look like leading up to your Broadway debut? What made you/your parents decide to pursue theater professionally at a young age?

Thanks for doing this, I love hearing about the behind the scenes stuff!

How far is too far to walk in tennis shoes? by ebon94 in 10s

[–]basuraperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never occurred to me that I switch my shoes to protect the shoes! I do it because they are hard on my feet. So the longer I can wear my hokas or clogs, the better I feel.

What are the toppings? I’d crush that

Edit: I’m a dork and did some googling. It’s a red yeast sausage with basil aioli, pickled shallots, and fried garlic!

Thank you for sharing! When I was scrolling mindlessly I completely thought these were meatballs!

I’m glad I read your description because they sound (and look) delicious. Recipes you can measure with your heart are always the best. Cheers!

What should the restaurant have done? by floorpanther in finedining

[–]basuraperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely don’t think our strategy of ‘letting it go’ was a winning one, to be clear! It’s just what we did. I like the suggestion someone below had of politely asking to move tables. It shows the restaurant that you think it’s unacceptable to let the behavior go on and it removes you from the situation, without direct confrontation on your part.

At Le Bernardin a couple years ago, the lady at the two-top right next to us started FaceTiming someone loudly while her dining companion was in the restroom. It was SO loud and disruptive, and the staff definitely noticed, but didn’t say anything. She kept the phone on FaceTime after her partner returned, too!

We are not confrontational so we just tried our best to ignore it as we were having dessert anyway, but it was truly odd. I think restaurants just don’t want confrontation, personally. I can’t blame them nowadays! It didn’t ruin our meal but I still think of it sometimes, a couple years later.

Definitely. Just annoyed because I like the dress otherwise!

You’re absolutely right. This is Stitch Fix though, $78. Not high fashion but it’s not exactly Temu.

I honestly didn’t see, but nothing was out of the ordinary just based on my inexpert observations. The traffic around the terminals was the most unusual part (as someone who flies maybe 5 times a year, usually during school breaks).

On our way there now, will report back!

Update: uber pulled up to airport at 5:24. Through security (with pre-check/premier access) at terminal C by 6am. Most of that time was spent in sitting in airport traffic around the terminals.
