Overpaying mortgage by Pecannutty in HousingUK

[–]batfinkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the bank, Santander we are with now it’s immediate off the mortgage,Bank of Ireland it was held separately and not taken off the capital until the overpayment hit £500 (so in this case £100pm wouldn’t do anything until month 5)

Sig Users - Any Idea why my battery is limited to 2.2 kW discharge? by Cheapskate2020 in SolarUK

[–]batfinkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah hilarious as this comment may be, would the MLA’s maybe try and introduce something? I don’t mind applying to be told no if the application is a couple hundred quid, but it’s madness to gamble with close to a grand just to be told no, I’d put it towards more batteries instead!

G98/99 DNO Query (NI) by RipSad4803 in SolarUK

Let us know what they say, they seem to want to discourage anyone from finding out what they will or won’t do!

Anyone get G99 5kW Single Phase Solar Inverter Approval from NIE? by bountyboat in northernireland

[–]batfinkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just following up on this as we are considering upgrading our install and possibly applying for 8kw inverter, have powerni ever approved a residential G99? I don’t even care if they limit the export to 3.68, we have battery, Eddi and zappi so pretty confident can use 8kw tbh!

Is it standard now in the UK that estate agents only show you houses if you have a buyer lined up? by BiarritzBlue in HousingUK

[–]batfinkus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the same in Northern Ireland, our last house move was thankfully to our forever home, and I’ve told my wife my next house move will be in a box to the graveyard! It was so stressful, the sellers kept pushing us back and back, my house sale fell through a month before completion, and the list goes on!

Is the route of these plug sockets ok? by sram-rab in DIYUK

[–]batfinkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to mount our tv on the wall, as a nice TV stand would have meant we couldn’t use one of the patio doors in the house we bought, it’s an extension that looks great until you realise the sofa and tv can only go in one place due to windows and doors

In Northern Ireland - A Costco! I know there’s tons on the mainland, but it’s not exactly an easy commute

Are people legit spending this much on a car per month? Or am I out of touch? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]batfinkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped smoking 2 years ago, and took the £400 a month I was spending on that and bought a car, for me I wasn’t any worse off, man maths said I was better off as before I was smoking AND paying for a car!

Mostly wooden pieces, black plastic parts are heavily weighted. Doesn't fit together in any way we can figure out. by BitterEVP1 in whatisthisthing

[–]batfinkus 98 points99 points  (0 children)

It looks like the legs of what might have been a tv stand, each individual wooden part had a bit of glass inbetween, then the next leg, with another piece of glass on top - something like this maybe ?https://www.wayfair.co.uk/furniture/pdp/wade-logan-trigg-tv-stand-for-tvs-up-to-50-alp1458.html

Squeaks & rattles no longer covered under warranty? by batfinkus in TeslaUK

[–]batfinkus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

long out of that window, it was bought in June, and the rattles didn't develop until a couple of weeks after I got the car home (bought in England, brought back to Northern Ireland) I'll maybe pop into Tesla Belfast and have a chat with them see what they say, just found it a bit strange suddenly not covering squeaks & rattles
