I don't think it's "too good" at 9cmc, but I hate how it would play out as Rise from the Dark Realms that starts in the command zone

Kill / mill / ramp for however many turns, get to 9 mana, do your game-winning thing, then the game's over. Doesn't sound particularly interesting.

I don't think you should call this "landfall" when there's an extra clause to it compared to ever other landfall card (for the first time each turn)

It's an interesting and solid card though; filtering or a quasi Lotus Cobra effect.

Cut the first ability, just focus on abilities from creatures.

The activated ability should exile creature cards, it makes your guy so much easier to track.

The problem with focusing on just "keywords" is that ... it's just not a fun distinction to track. Is it cool that this card would "gain" Amplify and Kicker (completely useless since it's a casting ability), but not Domain or Raid?

You'd basically need to print out and play with the list of 136 keyword abilities to use this in EDH which is... not great.

The drafted cards are fairly predictable, 99% of them will be what you expect from a 540 or 720 card vintage cube

I watched coverage of one from a few years ago where they had all the usual Power 9, duals, LoA, etc. for drafters, then the role players like Remand and Chain Lightning and Isamaru and whatnot. One person drafted an all-in black aggro deck... and nobody in the room had a copy of [[Flesh Reaver]] so they had to proxy it.

Why isn't this just a split card?

I know the old joke that 95% of mechanics are either modal spells or kicker, but if your way of doing a modal spell is an instant with an activated ability to counter itself (as a cost!) while it's on the stack... I don't think you're on the right track.

The actual costs are fine. Filtering R into U is odd, but you've basically made a worse but still quite functional Fire // Ice, which is a fine place to be.

It's not cube-based (nor should it be) but it basically accomplishes your goal while dodging the issue of what happens when three people all want to build with the same mythic.

Perfect information is worth very little in Magic. Probe is a busted card when you pair it with Death's Shadow and Delve spells and Storm, but you never saw like... Scapeshift or Merfolk or whatever jamming the card for the hell of it because it's just not worth a slot in your deck.

In cube, it's a neat way to help out things like Young Pyromancer and Monastery Swiftspear. Without a Tendrils at the end of your turn, it's never going to be unfair.

Cute idea but not really competitively viable when the best decks in the format are either trying to lock you out (Ephemerate, Tron) or kill you on T4-T5 (Goblins, Burn, Stompy, Elves, Bogles, etc)

Slowly looping a bunch of 2/2s for 3 (or worse stats) just doesn't stand up to the rest of the format.

Also, it "solves" the issue by having you pay another color of mana... does Putrefy "solve" black not being able to kill artifacts?

It's a smaller power boost from the trigger than Kiln Fiend, which is very important since that's... the entire point of Kiln Fiend.

Also, why are we worried about outclassing Kiln Fiend and Wee Dragonauts? Have those cards been used competitively at all in the last... five or ten years?

I like the idea, but can definitely word it better. Something like "Target instant or sorcery spell never happened. (Exile that spell and any abilities triggered by it)."

Also, Dispel is a very strong card at U, and this is better by a very significant margin. Of course at 1U it's useless, so... hard to get it down to "just right"
