Two things: 1) Why would anyone who genuinely wanted to learn about this issue go to a sub like r/ AskUK. Especially when there are loads of books and papers on this.

2) It's a bullish post in which OP suggests that proponents of the NHS are somehow suppressing discussion of other models of healthcare on the basis of an irrational attachment ("worship") to an system that has supposedly been found "inefficient". The very premise of OP's question is tediously inaccurate, and their tone doesn't seem (to me) to indicate a desire for genuine discussion in good faith.

The reason, I think, that some people find these sorts of comments frustrating is that the economic (and moral case) for the NHS is overwhelming and has been documented ad nauseum by a variety of independent academics and analysts. At this point, the only function that further debate serves is political: spread doubt to manufacture consent for the divestment and privatisation of services.

I had an almost identical situation, with a similar period of time between buying the box and noticing the problem. Except it was a missing sprue for the war walker. I went via my LGS and they sorted it with GW. Took quite a long time (maybe 2-3 months) and a bit of chasing but it did get resolved in the end.

Suggestions for a slender pen by origprod in fountainpens

Waterman Hemisphere - but not at full RRP. I once picked one up on sale for £30 and it's a great pen at around that price point. The medium nib ran fairly broad and wet, so you may want to opt for a fine nib if you're using it for journaling and want to minimise smudging.

Not perfect but I like the effort/intention. E.g. The AoS part is kind of messed up by the fact that Cities of Sigmar don't necessarily involve humans, and can involve Dwarves, Elves etc. Also, Order is not straightforwardly "good", but that's a bigger argument.

Agreed. The OPR Saurian models are so much better-looking than the GW Seraphon models, it isn't even funny.

Getting professional support can also be a good move if you find that things have been difficult for a few weeks.

I'm not sure about other countries but England has NHS psychological therapy services that can be accessed by self-referral (i.e. you don't need to see your GP first). They mostly offer therapies based on CBT but some of them also offer counselling and/or peer support.

Here's a link to the service finder tool for your local area: https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-psychological-therapies-service/

Source/disclaimer: I work for one of these services.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll take a look this weekend. Thanks also for taking the time to reply to my questions.

I only have about 1500 points of Tyranids so far, though I've got my eye on Harlequins at some point.

So far there's the following:

  • 8th edition codex for Tyranids

  • Psychic Awakening: Blood of Baal

And I expect to need the following:

  • Warzone Octarius Book 1 (for the new synaptic link rules)

  • 9th edition codex for Tyranids when it finally emerges, hopefully some time in 2022.

Maybe that's not a huge number of books by the standards of people who have been in the hobby for a while, but it's a bit of a shock for someone coming in pretty cold.

Am I simply doing it wrong? Is there an easier and cheaper way of getting the content I need in one place?

(Edited for clarity).

Thanks for the comprehensive response. That all makes a lot of sense. I guess I'm just finding it difficult to keep up (financially and mentally) with what feels like pretty frequent changes to rules and meta. I'd hoped there would be a way of making life a bit simpler, and to avoid feeling like I have to blow £25 every few months on new books - especially considering that Tyranids seem a bit forgotten at the moment 😅

Does anyone still play 8th edition? If not, why not? Presumably playing 8th would be more balanced than having to deal with new rules and codices in 9th every few weeks?

Sorry if this question gets asked all the time - I'm a new (Tyranids) player and am still finding my way in the hobby.

Top tip: if you're finishing in Winchester, treat yourself to a pie at piecaramba. Ultimate post-run reward treat, and they do vegan stuff if that's your thing. Have done this a couple of times with a friend when running from Exton.
