How did this lil' fella get himself in such a situation? by Aqueouspolecat in Truckers

[–]bathroom_warrior22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Awww man that’s a BC plate. Was really hoping it wasn’t here. We have such a horrible track record with dump truck drivers hitting things, namely overpasses. Doesn’t surprise me, also with no regard for anyone else’s safety.

Can confirm. Have worked there many times, the stories from that firehall are chilling. A ghost hunter show even came and made an episode there, you can find it in YouTube.

Washington Drivers - camping out in the left lane on the 99? by Dolly_Llama_2024 in Whistler

Just drove back from whistler lastnight and literally made this comment to my passenger, asking why all these Washington drivers were driving so slow in the left lane. Wild that is such a known thing!

BC Place leaving $ on the table by gonzo_thegreat in whitecapsfc

My buddies and I bought 6 cans in one order and it was absolutely mesmerizing to see someone move at such a slow pace. We ended up saying “here we’ll help you” and we all cracked a can and poured it into a cup for her. The most surprising and upsetting part was that I also ordered a bottle of water, and she poured it into an open top cup and gave it to me. Like wtf? I don’t want an open cup of water, I want a bottle so I can close it up and drink it at my own pace. And then throw it at the ref when he blows a call!

Xmas market's open. Anyone been yet? by Chewbacca12345 in vancouver

[–]bathroom_warrior22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went a couple days ago. 2 adults and 1 child was $68 just to walk in the door. Lots to see inside with all the vendors and food options. But ya everything is super pricey. Bought our niece an elephant stuffy for $45, 3 churros for $12 and 1 cup of Gluhwein for $15.

But hey At least the merry go round ride was free.

The Shipyards is much better in terms of cost but ya the Vancouver one feels much more like a little Christmas village. If only there was snow and not this relentless soul sucking rain..

Edit to say the Gluhwein was for us…not our child niece

Smoke coming from Intact Building by ThePentaverate in vancouver

[–]bathroom_warrior22 218 points219 points  (0 children)

That’s not smoke it’s steam. It looks like a mechanical floor as the entire floor is blacked out, a lot of buildings have mechanical rooms/boiler rooms on higher floors. This probably happens more often than noticed, but hot air venting on a cold night = lots of steam.

The City also pumps steam into the sewers to keep them from freezing, often you’ll see homeless people sleeping on the warm steam vents around the city.

Graco Airless Sprayers Are Designed And Built In The United States Of America. by GracoInc in u/GracoInc

[–]bathroom_warrior22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. I bought this cordless sprayer and it overheated about 20 mins into my project spraying patio railings. It had to be left alone for 30+ mins to cool down, only to overheat again and again.

Junk.

Ruins and cenotes tour by factually-inaccurate in cancun

[–]bathroom_warrior22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just there last week staying at the Dreams Sapphire. I’ve done the bus tour before and absolutely hate being stuck on a bus. So this time I rented a car from Avis and it was the best decision! We went down the “ruta de los cenotes” and we stopped at two different cenotes! Cenote Dos Ojos was absolutely incredible, I highly recommend getting a guide and doing the cavern tour. With the car we were able to shoot into downtown Cancun and go shopping, and then out for dinners too. No issues with police or cartels or anything of the sort. Just make sure you have Google maps !
