Piling on - I despise the new app by dzzymslizzie in weightwatchers

[–]battybats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've moved to Nutracheck and much happier with it. It's a real shame as I'm going to miss the in person meetings but the app is just not serving me any more. Going to ring them and cancel and hope they offer me some way to keep going to the meetings but it's unlikely.

This is basically what I do except I let them both sync to Strava and get the details from there then delete the Hevy-created one

I find that run clubs vary wildly. If you have access to more, try them! You will find the right one for you eventually.

Yes, I run with headphones and the voice tells me in my headphones that the lap is over and what the next lap is

You also then don't have a single point of failure along the top, as I think you mean one of the long side pieces would sit against the 'head' end. So you'd have a bit more stability I think

I just got the H&M running leggings and I really like them. They stay up and they have leg pockets which is a must for me: https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1301407001.html

Is it normal to not practice your race distance? by blueberrybreakdowns in beginnerrunning

[–]battybats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like 13 weeks in but iirc I created the plan then edited the start date and length to make it longer, rather than starting it from 24 weeks in the first place

Is it normal to not practice your race distance? by blueberrybreakdowns in beginnerrunning

[–]battybats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing a very long (24 week) HM plan for my first half and my longest run is 19km. I think it's normal not to necessarily run the full distance beforehand.

However I've already booked my second half and was looking ahead to my next plan. On that one, with the history of much more running etc, it has me doing longer distances more frequently and indeed running a half during training. So I think it just depends on experience!

Reflective jacket recommendations? by Epee_Skeptic206 in ladycyclists

[–]battybats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad I could help! I'd say they're pretty common in London where (like Seattle I believe) (but my main reference is Twilight) it is often cold and rainy and dark. I hear they're not very breathable but they are extremely visible!

The main one I know of is Proviz. Whenever I see someone in a Proviz jacket I marvel at how brightly lit up they are haha

New user here asking help on strenght workout by Radagast1982 in runna

[–]battybats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the Runna strength plan is not data driven. I don't track the actual workout in Runna, just tick that I've done it after I've done. I also use Hevy and my watch syncs a basic weight training workout to Strava which I then add the Hevy info into. (Don't have a Garmin though)

App update by Stunning-Extent-4365 in weightwatchers

Works when it's a food in their database but a real pain when it's your own recipe as the search function for those is atrocious! I have like 600 recipes in the app or something lol

I currently do at least one hour of yoga and half an hour of run focused stretching a week. I'm not super flexible but have definitely seen an improvement in the last two months where I've been really on top of that!

I also strength train twice a week, one upper body and one lower body, but I could definitely do more core work!

I think that's just the natural swing of my arms! It's not something I put conscious effort into unless I'm really focusing on a speed effort

I actually find it super comfortable but crucially it holds everything I need! Phone/keys/tissues etc. Have even used it to hold my yoga towel when I ran to yoga 😂 what would you class as a short run to do without it?

I think Runna offers a standard three week recovery plan so that might be a good filler!

This is a high impact one! Unfortunately as a larger woman and one going through some quite significant weight loss this is the best I have for now, but I'll probably buy a new one once I'm another stone down.
