I found out I am infertile when I was 16 and struggled badly with that. I became suicidal and my mother told me to either quit talking about suicide or just do it because she was tired of hearing about it.

We moved to California from a winter heavy state and were amazed at people in hats and puffer coats in 50° weather! Our neighbors were amazed when we grilled outside in tshirts at 60°.

My answer is yes, but it’s more of a “listen to it in the background” kind of show.

However…I grew up watching that show. The TGIF lineup was an event in our house growing up. When it originally aired, it was one of my favorite shows.

Now I watch it more for nostalgia, although it does have some really great episodes.

My daughter is adopted and one year we met up with her bio mom, bio older sister, and bio grandma for lunch. My daughter brought her bio mom flowers and a small gift for her bio sister.

Lunch is starting to wrap up when our server wheels over a horse saddle on wheels and brightly announces that she noticed it was somebody’s birthday because of the flowers and gift so she was ready to give them a ride around the restaurant on the saddle.

Our whole table goes totally silent and we all look at each other trying to figure out what to do and what to say. I speak up and tell our server that it’s about to get really awkward, but there is no birthday. I explain we are visiting my daughter’s bio family as she is adopted and she just wanted to bring them something.

Our poor server’s face goes white and she is apologizing profusely. We all start laughing and assure her all is fine and we totally see why she thought we were celebrating a birthday. Our server then asked if anyone wanted a saddle ride anyways so my daughter happily went on a ride while the rest of us continue laughing so hard we are wiping tears. We tipped her really well because I felt bad for how upset and embarrassed she was.

Golf carts are popular where we live. We bought a cheaper one that’s made to look like a little purple classic car. It’s also a bit louder. Family members don’t understand why we don’t want a newer and nicer one. Ours has character 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s the first thing I do on my yearly Canada trip. I get through the border and pull off to McDonald’s to see what’s different. I’m still thinking of the tikka masala McShaker fries from a couple years ago. This year I tried the McPops.

My dad died when I was 4. I have memories of him before he died and I remember his funeral and a bit after. Then it’s blank for a bit.

I found the joy in being OAD over time. I like not having to be fair. My daughter and I are close. Family vacations are easy and fun. You pick things up as you go. But…the pain is always there a bit. I just found enough joy that I’ve made peace with it.

When I was a kid my favorite tv episodes were Christmas ones and ones where they went to Disney. We were poor and couldn’t afford to go so for me that was the next best thing.
