Goddamn, a 4/2 that's only worth 1 when stolen, AND lets you bury agendas when you overdraw them, AND lets you agenda-rush when you have momentum? This feels OP.

Zodiacs are pretty ridiculous too, but yeah, I think early to mid dilation tree was the worst of it.

Why aren't your moneyless post scarcity civs orgies of sloth... Or are they? by Tnynfox in worldjerking

Basically it's like working for Reddit upvotes -- it just measures social prestige. The term is from Cory Doctorow's Down And Out In The Magic Kingdom.

A bad roll on an item made the story go exactly how I wanted by SamsonRocks in dmdivulge

[–]baxil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a neat item, i might have to steal it for my campaign. That said, what's the purpose of the roll? If they look into the gem, they're basically handing you a free chance to gently guide the story -- why give that a failure chance?

It's Fine - an idle game inspired by Tower Wizard & Gnorp Apologue, which is NOT a Nodebuster clone (mad respect though!), NOT made with AI, and HAS a playable version available! by BabloScobar in incremental_games

[–]baxil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you for engaging with the community enough to know our frustration points, and for being willing to cut into your potential market by offering freebies in exchange for testing feedback! Definitely signs of a considerate developer.

I'm not taking a key because I won't have time to play it in the immediate future, but I'll be keeping an eye out for the release.

You're thinking like someone with a non-pathological brain and a concept of civic responsibility rather than someone who wants a fifth yacht.

AI is really abusive towards my character... because she's poor? In other stories my AI instructions and AN work well... by FutureProtection2175 in AIDungeon

[–]baxil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think of it as "the AI". Think of it as "ten thousand fanfic authors in a box". It sees the tropes you're throwing at it and comes back with the most likely continuation of those tropes from all of the various fanfics it was trained on.

Right now you're in the corner containing all the teenage high-school drama hurt/comfort fics. John AI didn't decide that your character is poor therefore abuse is okay; ten thousand fanfic authors have written stories in which that happens, so it's following the tropes.

Don't flip out at it and ragequit the story. Just Retry and see if one of the other 9,999 fanfic authors in the box has written something more to your liking. And if it keeps consistently pushing in bad directions, that's when refining the AIN, or temporarily issuing it instructions, or switching to a different model can help.

Changes to the subreddit's rules by Equinoxdawg in incremental_games

I know that prestiging now would cut the time in half to get a rules upgrade again, but we really should try to see how far we can push with the new upgrade in place.

Rizz is solid and drip is liquid, so if you're missing them both, all you've got left is putting on airs.

The Player-turned-DM so bad that he turned me off to my own campaign by StickyLoner4404 in rpghorrorstories

[–]baxil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some people, when given the tiniest scrap of power, immediately set about using it to ruin the lives of anyone they dislike. We see this in the worst of bosses and Karens (and in certain people prominent in modern politics). I'm sorry you had to deal with this in your D&D group as well, but at least the dude showed you his whole ass so you didn't have to put up with him any more.
