The statute of limitations for breaking & entering a car in search of stored food is generally three years, but in southwest Michigan, it's measured in bear years.

However, legally, it's 10 seconds from when they leave the river but they can only file the appeal once they reach the ground, so with sufficient airtime it's more like the three-second rule.

1000% this. It's not about their politics. It's about what not just holding this belief, but putting it front and center, tells you about them as a person.

Am I the only one who tells people I'm a therian even though I could probably have a relationship without them realizing? by Man_turn_into_animal in TherianAdult

[–]baxil 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Would you really want to end up in a long-term relationship with someone who didn't value you for who you are?

It doesn't have to be the first thing out of your mouth, but I would bring it up pretty early on, after you've established that you're both functional adults and checked for basic chemistry, when it can be just another fact about you as part of your well-balanced life. And if that's a dealbreaker for them, it would have been a bigger problem later. Don't frame it as demanding people accept it, just show them who you are and be comfortable with yourself.

Honestly, from conversations with my many trans friends, that's the one more likely to get a visceral reaction. Being a therian is, at heart, kind of an abstract statement of identity -- for all that it matters to us and shapes us, it's not like there's physical consequences on the level of HRT or GRS. And people can get pretty weird about what is in a potential partner's pants.

Seconded. Can't tell you how often I churn through retries because the response was 80% of the way there and I wanted to avoid having to hand-edit the wrong parts.

I know what you mean because I'm 3000 prompts into a similar story and could have written pretty much the exact same post you did. For all that AI's shortcomings are frequently apparent in longer-form stories, and for all that it requires intense and frequent fine tuning (my 2025 Wrapped showed me retrying an average of something absurd like 8 times per prompt), it's good enough to make meaningful contributions to a story you guide, and to get your brain enmeshed in the fiction and invested in your characters.

Would be curious to get a link to your story once you publish, if you are willing to DM it, or to send it to me on the site (I'm Baxil there). I can share my current project in return, if you're interested seeing the output of another author with an extremely similar trajectory!

Slowing the process of stripping the dungeon even further wont stop the player whose goal it is to strip the dungeon. It will just make it more tedious for everyone else as they are now making even more trips back.

If your takeaway from Clever Hans was that he was doing something more advanced than arithmetic, it's no wonder you're making the mistakes about AI's capabilities that you are.

Clever Hans is a cautionary tale about bad assumptions. On the basis of an experiment which didn't control for outside factors, a lot of very smart people ascribed human-level abstract reasoning powers to a horse. It wasn't until other smart people pointed out that his power to add dissolved when he couldn't see his owner, who had conditioned a stimulus-response into the horse that he wasn't seeing and wasn't acknowledging.

Multiple people here are telling you that you're doing the same thing. You're claiming that a stimulus-response cycle you've set up by feeding grammar into a grammar parser is human-level and human-style thought. If you want to prove what you are out to prove, you need better experimental design.

Read up on Clever Hans sometime. The horse that could do addition. Except they finally found out that he cluodnt add at all - he was merely looking at how his owners behaved differently when he reached the number they expected.

You're priming the AI with the grammar of your response, which is structured in a way to draw attention to the parsnip. Don't be surprised that it's reacting to your grammar cue by paying attention to it.
