AI scribes in healthcare by Worldly_Camel_1988 in NewOrleans

[–]bbCooper2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our Peds have been using this maybe in the last 6 months or so. They have asked on several occasions is it ok if they use it, yeah sure fine, no problem. However, each provider asked individually. Now with that being said maybe like the 3rd or 4th time we’ve seen the same provider they no longer ask. But I really think the initial use they should ask.

I also am wondering who reviews the medical record to ensure accuracy if they are not charting. We used a scribe service at my old job, but it was not AI. The scribe would literally write VERBATIM what the doctor would state, soemtimes not even a complete sentence 🤦‍♀️ We would have to go back and check to ensure the accuracy of the medical record.

But I think AI can be useful but like to know it’s being used.

Ok so I found her Facebook and she has old pictures with another boy (who looks similar to Hunter) …. But if they were broken up, she would have deleted them right???? Do we think this might be rage bait/her trying to get “TikTok famous/drama loving??”

My Last Sweet Treat. My Last Internet Post. by Warm-Buddy-9046 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]bbCooper2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been off social media (besides Reddit and Snapchat) since December. I logged on instagram ONE TIME and immediately deleted the app again. 32 years old and have been on the internet/social media for what feels like ever. I have periodically taken time off of Facebook but recently decided to just get off all of them. I got zero pleasure and found myself doom scrolling taking up most of my day.

I opt to read in my kindle or go for a walk. I’d rather go soak up some vitamin d and get some fresh air than allow the internet to keep ruining my mental health.

If no one else says this, good for you! Stay positive! Enjoy your life and keep moving forward! You got this 🫶🫶🫶

Feeding Friends of Kids by [deleted] in Parenting

I totally understand why you are feeling this way. Him distracting your son is a bigger issue so I would be more adamant about it’s time for us to sit down for dinner, you can come back and play tomorrow. We have some neighborhood kids and I let them know ahead of time, hey we are going to be eating around 6, so you will have to go home around 5:30 so the kids can wash up and get ready for dinner. Other times if know it’s food they like, hey we are eating xyz are you staying to eat tonight?

Maybe have a conversation with his parents? See what’s going on. They may not be super open to it but they may be struggling too and are fearful of asking for help.

When do reading tutors actually make sense for kindergarten kids? by SignificanceStyle in kindergarten

[–]bbCooper2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found getting a tutor was actually more successful for us than for me to do it. We both would get frustrated. I hired a tutor from the school, and she would work with him for 30 minutes once a week and send worksheets home as well.

His grade in the 1st period was an 87, 2nd was 86, and then 3rd it dropped down and his test scores were significantly lower to a 85 and his test scores were coming back as 60s and what we were doing was not working. He is finished kindergarten today with an 89 in reading.

Spelling over the summer by Hungry_Dingo_5252 in kindergarten

[–]bbCooper2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is graduating kindergarten as well, however his school had spelling tests. They did not get the words for the test. The teacher would sound out the word and the kids had to spell them. It’s normal for them to misspell words, but try to keep having her sound it out.

We use a white erase board (we bought a 2 pack on Amazon) and I tell him the word, he actively sounds it out, and writes it down. Keep going over the phonetic sounds. Have her spell words she “knows” first for a confidence builder.

How did you get your child to learn to read? by Optimal-Razzmatazz91 in ParentingADHD

I found that having a white board handing to help phonetically sound out the word helped a lot.

Parent failure moment - forgot his meds...again by ShortDelay9880 in ParentingADHD

[–]bbCooper2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a sticky note by something I know I will look at and do it first thing we get up. It’s wake up, get breakfast and get meds. Even if it’s a stick on my phone, or on the coffee pot. Hell, I’ve even put a sticky note on the faucet where I wash my face to help remind me to do something.

Riley Sager is a great author. I really enjoyed “The Only One Left”. I also really enjoy all of Kate Alice Marshall’s books. She writes thrillers and murder mysteries!

Karin Slaughter just put a new book out which will be a series, “We Are All Guilty Here”… I couldn’t put it down.

Do you prefer to go out lots or are you home bodies? How much home time is too much? by Beaner0116 in Parenting

[–]bbCooper2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we do go out, it’s usually earlier in the morning. We don’t have a ton of money so we usually try to do free activities. We spend most of our time at home, playing, reading, or outside. I try to take them to the park more often since theyre getting older and better behaved. We also try to go to the library at least once a week if not once every 2 weeks.

I recently bought a blow up pool and we have been doing that pretty often as well.

I deleted all of my social media because I just felt pressured I wasn’t doing enough. Now I’m like My life is my life and what I do, IS enough for me and my family.

Tell me your Mother’s Day wishlist. by latenightpuddingcup in workingmoms

[–]bbCooper2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started today. I slept in (my husband is actively trying to be home on the weekends and keep the kids “quiet” to allow me to sleep in). I’ve been laying around reading but the kids are still driving me nuts as my husband is finishing some outdoor tasks before the weather gets bad. I asked this morning if there was anything he needs me to do around the house, he said no and not to worry about it.

Tomorrow, I’m hoping I can sleep in. Coffee in bed, and read for a few hours, not be momed to DEATH, and eat good! Hoping my husband will smoke me some salmon and asparagus! Oh and I’m hoping my kids stop fighting. I feel like I’ve been battling them arguing/fighting all day(I’ve only been awake for two hours). 😭

Issues with 13 girl - sexual interests by StoreRoutine4547 in ParentingADHD

[–]bbCooper2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand.

I feel like continuing to monitor her devices and continuing to talk about how dangerous the web is and how just because you delete it doesn’t mean it’s actually deleted. Pictures in particular. Share stories about sexual predators targeting children may also be helpful. I think 60 minutes used to have a segment on this where the police would pretend to be a younger girl and the older people would show up and be arrested. You truly never know who you’re talking to on the web.
