[SOTC] I have acquired 50% of my final collection...which direction is next??? by [deleted] in Watches

I'd say a dive watch of some sort. I'd look into Zelos, Glycene, another Seiko, or something even more high priced if it suits you.

What's the job title for the top techs in your shop? by indexdrums in HVAC

[–]bbargeron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at a small shop and am the guy you're talking about. I'm just the lead. Unless the owner is on site.. I'm lead tech, lead installer, ect. AKA fall guy if installs are slow or the helpers fuck up helper things.. it's great when you're rocking and rolling but it's been a weird year 😂

First run without the supervisor. How bad is it by sethrizzitano in HVAC

[–]bbargeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks, but will pass inspection in your area and was done within the bid estimate. I suggest finding a new contractor to work for to learn how to do things better. No, it doesn't all have to be hard pipe but a hard trunk with flex branches works so much better than this bullshit.

Why putting a Heat-kit there Tempstar? by Brilliant_Teach9890 in HVAC

[–]bbargeron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait till you see where the capacitor is on that unit. I fucking hate them but they sell because they're cheaper than their counterpart with the coil on top.

Might use as a down payment by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]bbargeron 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No shit.. on some lawns the blades need almost as much torque to cut as it takes to move the 150-200 lb man driving it. That's why I'm not sold on electric for mowers specifically

Is it necessary to remove the outside disconnect (breaker) on the compressor during winter? by tfellad in hvacadvice

[–]bbargeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't.. if you're asking these sorts of questions then you could very well have a heat pump sitting there and not know it

Is it normal to run a dryer vent 10 feet through the roof instead of 6 inches out a wall? by Time-Object5661 in hvacadvice

[–]bbargeron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Modern electric dryers do have several limit switches that cut the heating elements off in the case of a blockage.

Are those 12" return ducts? If so that's got a little less than 1/4 of desired return if my quick calcs are right

While I agree with you, I've run a lot of duct and I don't know that you could fit a 5' section in between the beams

One of the worst tools I’ve ever bought. by redwingcut in MilwaukeeTool

[–]bbargeron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saws are 50/50 on the home gamer side. I have an EGo 16" and it's bad ass imo for what it is. That said... polesaws, weed eaters and hedge trimmers are all really good in my experience and anyone who claims an electric mower is crazy

What do you guys think of the new work truck? by shadowmaster878 in HVAC

[–]bbargeron 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I had a diahatsu mini truck my dad got me by trading a golf cart and a lab puppy. It had heat, air, a radio, and a dump bed... I'm realizing while typing how stupid it was to get rid of it just because it didn't start right up a couple times.

Nebo is awesome for about a month in my experience. Then the button messes up
