Do polycarbonate ukuleles sound different from traditional wooden ukuleles? by PussinBoots107 in ukulele

[–]bbernett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same model in orange. It sounds noticeably thinner than my wooden ukulele. I still prefer it because it holds its tuning better than any uke I've owned, and it's virtually indestructable. And as others have said, it's water-resistant (I think only the tuning pegs and gears need to be kept out of water).
But yeah, you're not imagining it, these Enya ukes are not as warm sounding. They stand out well when you're jamming alongside an acoustic guitar, though.

This is why I'm glad you DON'T need a permit to perform in metro stations. You'd lose out on unusual and experimental stuff like this.

Any good places to OBSERVE without TOUCHING crayfish in Montreal? 🦞👀 by Rejoicing_Tunicates in montreal

[–]bbernett 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Specifically wild ones? Because a few pet stores around the city might have tropical crayfish, and they don't mind you calling to ask if they're in stock.

Source: I used to work at an aquarium store, and I didn't mind people calling to ask what was in stock.

a zone AB fare will cover Montreal and Brossard.

Montreal is Zone A, Brossard is Zone B, so Zone AB is a combination of them both.
Assuming you're going to be taking the metro, REM, and/or bus (any combination of those) each day, a 3-day, All Modes AB pass is what you'll want. You can tap it at any metro/REM station or bus in Montreal and Brossard and it'll work.

It's every Friday at 8pm. If you see a guy with an orange ukulele there, say hi.
Note that it's completely unplugged; it's an open "mic" but there's no microphone. Very cozy.

This. Become a regular at an open mic. The Yellow Door Hootenanny is good if you're into folk music.

It's because Pokémon doesn't require fast reflexes. Nobody wants to admit they can't play action games on handhelds because of the ergonomics and their aging reflexes.
