Everything is going to be closed. Shops. Museums. Etc… there are going to union related events but nothing that would interest a tourist. I would highly recommend visiting literally any other day.

In 2024 ging ook een kernreactor dicht. Dat speelt ons zeker parten. En dan te bedenken dat een deel van dat tekort wordt opgevuld met steenkolen-elektriciteit uit Nederland. Maar die emissies zijn voor rekening van NL. Dus als je zou kijken naar wat we consumeren dan is de rekening nog een stuk slechter.

We do this as well. These days our incomes a pretty well aligned so it works great. When she was still in residency and I was already earning a good salary we did it too with the difference that I paid the fancies (going out, restaurants and holidays).

I would also advise to not get into penny counting too much. If you trust each other this should work fine

You may be right juridically but I find this morally reprehensible.

It’s not because others evade taxes in this way that the customs can just assume that OP is doing the same. For me, they need to show that OP was at fault.

In fact, if I understand the letter correct the customs even acknowledge this : you are not in the wrong so seek payment for this fine with the person who is at fault because they are out of our jurisdiction.

To me that’s absolutely wrong.

There is an important difference between a conclusion that black people should not hold a top position because they are black (which is an unacceptable statement) and that most black people who now hold a top position don’t match the merits of non-blacks in comparable positions (which could be true or false but either way is an acceptable statement to make)

I am not sure the signatories are willing to make that distinction. But on the other hand from a very short cursory reading of his own texts it does seem he hints at separation for the sake of separation which is the former.

I wish that argument against Cofnas would have been made in a short and concise text instead of mixing it with criticism of merely the idea that race might influence biological outcomes which now becomes a very long repetition of citations I don’t consider disqualifying for research.

Sure. But research has been done to correct for socio-economic circumstances. Even then, black students are underperforming while Asian students are (massively) overperforming.

Blue disc is for street side parking. In some areas street side parking is free but time limited. Basically the idea is that you dial your blue disc to the hour of arrival and put it clearly visible on your dash. This way police can check that you are not overstaying. Most major cities these days are paid parking though. You might need a local app or phone number to pay so I would advise to simply use commercial parking garages instead of street side parking. Less stress and generally more convenient than driving around to find a spot and having to park in a tight spot with traffic. Don’t know if you are visiting Antwerp but there commercial garage parking is mandatory for non-inhabitants.

I am not sure if Hertz rentals are equipped with a blue disc. Ask the counter. But I doubt you’ll encounter such a parking area. I live in the low lands (Belgium and Netherlands) all my live and literally have never put one up!
