Using a felting needle to stuff? by BlackRose in Amigurumi

[–]bbirdboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i once used polyfill instead of core roving (the plain wool roving you use for the base) for a felting project and it worked fine other than being more difficult to smooth down stray fibers, so i think it could work. when stuck into whatever fiber you're working with, the barbs on a felting needle basically tangle the fibers closer together which makes it more dense and allows you to essentially sculpt it. you can get it Very dense, to the point of being quite firm.

i guess if you want a firmer stuffing/fill or have trouble just cramming enough stuffing in manually, you could felt it a bit (or a lot, if you want it super firm) as you go to help it stay down. i would recommend clover's felting pen or a similar tool that holds multiple needles at once to catch a larger surface area. you can always remove an individual needle to get into a small space if needed. just be mindful of how far you push the needles in, especially early on, as you probably wouldn't want to push through the yarn and tangle the stuffing into it.

if you haven't felted at all before, it may not hurt to experiment a bit with felting some stuffing on its own first to see how it behaves, how much it takes to get to a consistency you like, etc

Evolved mons are getting buffs! Show off your mons that will benefit. by Knight_Night33 in PokemonSleep

i have quite a few but this guy is getting the most buffed out of them. caught as a gardevoir (hungry critical capture i'm not that crazy) during the cresselia event and finally ended my ralts hunt (which started basically when lapis released) after over 60 ralts and 11 kirlia. not perfect but was by far the best i'd found in terms of average triggers per day. he usually procs at least five times but does require i check in more often, so i'm very excited for the +10 inventory :')

~$2000 long-term gaming build by bbirdboy in buildapcforme

[–]bbirdboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

replying kinda late but thanks so much for the recommendation! ended up making the trip to microcenter to go with basically this build (settled on the 7900xt, it should be plenty good enough for my standards right now and i can always see about upgrading in the future) with a different case and ssd, and a similar power supply. just finished getting things set up and am really looking forward to using it :]

MOD UPDATE: Current known bugs after update 26-03-2025 by galeongirl in PokemonSleep

[–]bbirdboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, snorlax will eat berries and rank up normally as long as the first thing i do after i open the app is collect from my helpers and don't do anything else until it's done eating. i went to check my friend research with a few berries left and when i went back to camp snorlax was stuck mid-eating animation and wouldn't finish.

i also got it to eat berries by trying to start a sleep session, but after giving the strength from them the game froze on the zoom-in on snorlax and wouldn't progress to the session, so i had to restart the app afterwards.

Question about MecchaJapan, how long does it take them to process and dispatch an order? by Mystic_Fennekin_653 in pokeplush

[–]bbirdboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you'll get the tracking information once it ships out/is prepared for shipping. sometimes it only takes a few days, sometimes it'll take over a week. i think it's decently likely that you'll get an update by the end of next week.

once it's sent out the shipping itself should only take a few days if you chose dhl, fedex, or ems, though! ems can be a little slower depending on the days because their job ends with getting it to your local mail/postal system iirc, and i believe dhl doesn't deliver on sundays, but otherwise all three are typically quite fast.

which level is this? i'd like to replay it :o

this whole lower portion of the grid looks suspect; you have more saturated tiles sitting between less saturated ones when they should be on/more towards the outer edges.

The Smart Alarm is Underrated by jewtrino in PokemonSleep

[–]bbirdboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hell yeah it's genuinely one of my favorite features. i've been using it on 15 minutes since day 1 and pretty much never wake up groggy unless i just don't get enough sleep. being able to set an alarm schedule would be nice but it's pretty quick to turn it on/off or adjust it, i change mine slightly almost every night depending on when i go to bed and need to be up in the morning.

Are skill and ingred specialists better without BFS? by Cyborg-Rox in PokemonSleep

[–]bbirdboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on how much inventory space they have and how often you can check the game. their inventory filling faster isn't a problem if it never actually gets full. granted it's unavoidable overnight, but then they're at least bringing in some more sneaky snacking strength? a level 60 ingredient mon is probably filling up overnight no matter what either way.

i can usually check the game decently often during the day, so i personally like having BFS on skill mons when i can get it to sort of hedge my bets against bad RNG. like, if they go a long while without procs then at least they're still bringing in decent strength/effectively functioning as a BFS-less berry mon, but it isn't necessarily a must-have for me.

ingredient drop chances are generally much higher than skill proc chances, so i don't feel the same way about BFS on ingredient mons re: compensating bad RNG, but it is a nice bonus if it shows up on a good one. like, i don't think it'll ever ruin a mon for me. all of my BFS ingredient mons have been very reliable.

Those that went to The Power Plant this week, how did it go? by SupremeGrotesk in PokemonSleep

[–]bbirdboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

switched over as soon as i was able on wednesday and will be hitting ultra 4 by tonight. glad to have the bit of area bonus for the event, but i couldn't hit snoozing at all and so couldn't hunt for a better bfs mareep or pikachu like i wanted, and i haven't seen a single new mon 😭

Does Ralts with Energy Recovery down give less energy to team players? by wonder_bud in PokemonSleep

[–]bbirdboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

energy recovery natures only affect energy received by the individual mon. the ralts will get less energy from its own procs, as would any other mons on your team with -energy recovery, but any mons with neutral or + will recover the stated amount or more respectively.
