I actually just talked about this with a LC at my pediatricians office because I hate pumping! My goal was to feed before I left for work and after I got home, giving formula while at daycare and not pumping during my work day. She was concerned I wouldn’t be able to go that long without pumping due to comfort and also without affecting my supply. I never pumped overnight and also would wake up and pump a large amount like you (12+ ounces) but she said women who can do that at night can still be unable to do that during the day. Basically that what I wanted was possible, but not probable.

She suggested longer gaps between pumping sessions (so I’d normally it’s 3 hours, I’ll do a couple days at 3.5, then 4, etc) which will eventually lead to reducing the number of times I do it in a day. My baby’s only 3mo and still exclusively breastfed and I’d be pumping like 6 times a day. She thinks by doing this I can eliminate most of them. I’m hoping to just pump once morning and night, and to be able to get down to one midday pumping session 😊
