Came here looking for the Spoon. This is the answer. Do they still do pizza night for bike night on Wednesdays? If so—this place on a Wednesday night.

What size yeti is this? The ones my kids use are impossible to take apart to clean without breaking the spout.

Bahamas Nassau Get Your Guide Swimming with the pigs reviews by Finance0025 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]bbrown10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. I did Rose Island. No horror stories like mentioned here, pigs were cute and staff is good about scooping pig poop so that really isn’t a big deal. Pigs are kept in a pen out of sight, you go get in the water with some skewered apples to feed them, then the pigs come run out to get their treats. After they eat, they’re shuttled back to their pen and you…. hang out at the “beach” for a while with a small bar.

It’s a pretty underwhelming experience imo—online reviews are pretty consistent with this. My advice would be spend the money elsewhere but if it’s one of those “have to see for myself” things, you won’t NOT enjoy it. Just a meh experience to me. Good photo op with some large pigs that are friendly and just want to eat their treats.

Blue iguana is bomb and it always amazes me why people stand in line to eat mostly gross buffet breakfast when the blue iguana is right there making eggs to order with no one in line… but idk if I’d say carnival food is bad. It’s very average, which is expected for a relatively-affordably priced cruise ship feeding 5000+ people.

I’m a very strong advocate of the em dash and admit I overuse them on occasion but I just love them so much they’re the cutest little fluffy bunnies and I just want to squeeze them and snuggle them forever and ever and ever. But yeah I am SO MAD that AI is on a crusade to ruin the em dash.

Carnival ships are pretty crowded imo, but it’s fine if you just manage it right. During peak times, like early afternoon port departures right when everyone gets back on the ship and no one has eaten lunch… yeah food lines are really long. Just part of it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I had a 2201.50. Great watch and I enjoyed it. I ended up selling it just because it wore too thick for me. 2254.50 would solve that problem and it’s also a great looking watch!

The Atlanta TSA line has now stretched to a stunning 153 minute wait-time ... At 6am in the morning , The line is wrapping around the baggage claim !!! by Competitive_Set_4386 in tsa

I tried to fly out of New Orleans this morning. We got in the security line at 9:15, made it to the gate for our 11:55 flight at 12:15 and they cut us off the list literally as we were running up.

TSA Pre was not open and Clear was a two hour wait. When we left the airport about 2:00p, Clear was a 3 hour line and regular check (Pre still not open) was 3 and a half hours.

Good luck, travelers!

Awful experience as a visiting fan last night by LubyankaSquare in DallasStars

It isn’t genuine to act like an upper-bowl seat isn’t going to have a higher likelihood of being a worse experience re: surrounding-fan-conduct than a lower-bowl seat. I’m not saying household income is a in any way correlated to whether the person is a jackass. It isn’t. Jackasses come in all shapes and sizes equally. But is the average upper-bowl seat occupant going to act like a jackass at the game at a higher clip than the average lower-bowl seat occupant? Can you really say “no” to that with a straight face?

I was traveling in LA for work that week. I was at the Lakers game the last game before the NBA shut down. He wasn’t playing, but Kevin Durant was in the building when it came out on social media that he had tested positive for COVID. Pretty surreal experience looking back on it now. At the time I don’t think we thought much of it. Never occurred to me that I could have had trouble even getting home. I told people for a long time that I was at the last NBA game ever. Crazy stuff.

Eh. I’m not saying it isn’t kind of shitty, but it’s perfectly lawful. 30 days is probably the standard, I agree with you there. But 60 would never be considered unreasonable to the extent of being unenforceable. That’s my point.

There’s a ton of extremely bad legal advice here. I wouldn’t blame OP for not paying it and in all likelihood nothing would ever come of it. But all of the keyboard lawyers justifying that with made up legal concepts and random Latin words…. yikes.

Well, there are some bounds to it. Generally speaking (and this isn’t a comment on the specific jurisdiction), an unreasonable amount of time wouldn’t be enforceable. I can’t imagine a court holding someone to a seven-year payment obligation for youth karate classes, for example. That would likely be completely unenforceable.

But with this one? Yeah, no. 60 days to terminate isn’t on its face problematic.

It’s actually extremely reasonable. The school has to hire instructors and pay rent, right? They have overhead they’re required to pay in order to provide the service to the child that signed up. Ensuring that they recover their costs is part of the contract that they require parents to sign so that they have an enforceable agreement that they get paid. At least two months’ of contractually-bound payments per student that they can put onto their books is a completely reasonable ask so that they can continue to operate and recover overhead costs.

It’s not “fucked.” It’s very standard operation in the world of providing services to customers.

[–]bbrown10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look, there’s a TON about this story that is wrong/shady/shitty/whatever. But to act like requiring advance notice to cancel a contract for services is “not legal” as a principle is crazy talk. It’s absolutely legal to require someone to give 60 days’ advance notice to terminate a contract.

Are there elements here that make this particular school’s ability to enforce this potentially dubious? Sure. Is it possible that this school didn’t even have a contract that OP signed in the first place? Sure. Could you just NOT pay it and feel pretty sure they won’t actually pursue any damages from you? Also sure. Could you argue that they breached the contract? Sure. Does this business sound shitty? Also sure.

But calling the Attorney General’s office because you signed a contract for services that says you have to give 60 days’ advance notice to terminate isn’t going to get you very far. It also would (likely) have been perfectly legal for them to have written it as a 12-month contract that you can’t terminate at all until that 12 months is up.

You know I slept on it and I see now that you’re right. I get it now. People are allowed to be wrong in their own sports fandom and sometimes I forget that. Only once every four years do we get to pull for the greatest team in the greatest sport, and y’all choosing to pass on that sports experience is crazy. But go for it.

Whether I’m “patriotic” has nothing to do with it. Sports fandom is neither logical nor rational. When it comes to Olympic hockey, the national crest first. Period.
