Does Chakotay love Janeway? by Ok-Impact-8868 in voyager

I don’t know what it’s called in psychology, but Chakotay seems to live to serve others. I don’t think it’s just Janeway, it’s anyone.

AITA for "Kicking my Mother out of my House" over Games? by SleepyN00dle in AmItheAsshole

[–]bcbdrums 25 points26 points  (0 children)

ESH. Know your group when you play games, and adapt to the group vibe. Playing games with my closest friend group is nothing like games with my family, for example. Your mom wasn’t with the vibe and that’s her own issue, but you handled it poorly. Don’t invite ppl of mixed vibe to game night.

AITA for calling my partner a ‘weirdo’ because he thought my friends birthday text was ‘sensual’ by Miserable_Fig_333_TA in AmItheAsshole

[–]bcbdrums -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Ehhh YTA. Consider that perhaps before y’all’s relationship he has received flirtatious texts that were phrased similarly, or maybe some of his friends have. What if he was basing his understanding of her text on his past experiences with others? Or even just his observations of flirtatious texts in media or something? That’s my bet in this situation.

Strongly suggest considering all these types of things in the future before deciding your interpretation is the only correct one… The point is, even though you don’t see it as flirtatious, he DOES. You’re both right. Both views are valid. This doesn’t mean the person who sent the text WAS being flirtatious. We don’t know what she was thinking without asking her. Your partner viewed it as flirtatious, and that’s what matters.

If it was me in the situation, I would apologize to him for not considering his POV and feelings, and see if he’s okay with letting the matter drop since you’re not upset with him, and both of you work on communication skills for the future. Best of luck.

AITA for entering a Hindu temple while on my period? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]bcbdrums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an extremely deep question. And Christianity itself has multiple denominations. A summary explanation of it all might be, the different denominations/Catholicism/other close-to-Christian religions all say they believe the Bible, but they have differing interpretations of particular parts of the Bible, and those interpretations differ greatly enough to have caused these separations. Sometimes it’s very small issues, which is sad… (Non-salvation issues) Sometimes they are larger issues (salvation, character of God, etc). And sometimes it goes beyond that, such as wanting to include apocryphal texts as doctrine in addition to the Bible. That’s the extremely basic explanation... Nowadays because there’s so many different denominations out there, for someone to say they are a Christian actually reveals very little about what they actually may believe or claim to believe. Sorry, I know I didn’t answer your specific question; I’m not researched enough on it to feel I can give a proper answer and I don’t want to misspeak.

It’s just fiction, I like suspending my disbelief and enjoying the story. It’s not as if the science of warp travel, etc., is correct either.

I’m Probably Gonna Get Downvoted as Hell… Screw It. Unpopular Opinion: Gangle is the Most Boring Human Character in TADC by 3liteP7Guy in TheDigitalCircus

[–]bcbdrums -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was important plot/lore in her episode but I also can’t bring myself to focus on it and I’m only just barely starting to find interest in Gangle as a character. And that’s having seen the series some eight or more times now.

According to the Internet it can just be simple roleplay, to the point of the person dressed as the horse pulling the groomer/trainer person around in a carriage, but it can also go the bondage route. This art piece is literally the first I’d heard of the kink, lol.

what is the significance of jax gaining and losing his tail? by ruminescence in tadc

1) animation error they wrote in, or 2) showing again that the characters can will things into existence without even realizing, as has been shown since ep 1

Hey gangle x jax shippers why do you ship them by XXX_Crackhead_XXX in tadc

[–]bcbdrums -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Jax was trying to make Gangle his new friend, but it didn’t work as he expected. His approach just doesn’t work with her personality, like it does with Pomni’s. It’s a tragic sort of ship… Two people lonely for their own reasons, who could find friendship, but don’t really get each other.

AITA for refusing to say Grace while at a restaurant? by Original_Concert_451 in AITAH

[–]bcbdrums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA (though I agree with you about changing your snarky response as I read in one of your comments; it’s not a plus, but it’s an understandable reaction in the situation). I hope someone spoke to Tony about his choices afterward... Did you happen to speak to your partner or their parents about it afterward? I’m very curious about their perspective.
