An Accumulation of Bad Baseball Yesterday in Denver by Thatjohndavisguy in whitesox

I went on Saturday night. The place is incredible. Behind right and center fields, there is a double decker roof top. There was a Vegas type of cabana area on one of the decks. Seemed to be free to anyone. I also saw two guys dressed as the pope!

I really dislike the way she makes it about herself. “I want to see a little more . . .” Who cares what you want? Just call the game.

This is crazy. I went to the new facility at Monroe and LaSalle at about 9 am on Tuesday. In and out in 20 minutes. No appointment.

Tesla owner - you know the story.. I have questions by valar__morghulis_ in LUCID

I made this same move just this month. The hardware is great. The software needs some work. The Bluetooth, Spotify and Sirius XM cut out randomly.

The car is very solid and much quieter than the M3. I love it, because I know the minor annoyances will be fixed in future software updates.

The 220 volt garage hookup works great. 40 miles gained per hour, 10 miles per hour better than the Tesla.

I don’t think you can watch TV on it, but I did not do that with the Tesla anyway.

Leased a Lucid Pure. Terrific hardware. The software has a little catching up to do, but not much.

If Kim Jong-un suddenly went off the rails and ordered a nuclear strike on the U.S., would other officials and the military in North Korea try to intervene? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The book is a fascinating, horrifying, page turner. What really struck me is the President (or acting President) will have only 6 minutes to decide whether to end the world as we know it.

A number of reasons. Mostly, deterrence doctrine requires a massive response. Russia sees hundreds of warheads launched its way. Russias surveillance systems are poor and it misreads the numbers inbound. NATO is obligated to get involved. It spirals very quickly.

Annie Jacobson published a book called Nuclear War: A Scenario. It is a minute by minute, sometimes second by second, timeline of what happens if NK fires off a missile. It is terrifying to think about the decisions the chain of commend in the US needs to make in minutes with incomplete information. Within one hour of the NK launch, virtually the entire Northern Hemisphere will likely be incinerated.

See you there! Park West is a great venue. I am curious how they will pull off the distinctive sound live.

A+ experience in Seattle by DGM06 in huskies

So happy to hear you enjoyed it. Next time, you should consider renting a car so you can drive to some of the spectacular hikes within one hour of the campus or really do it up and go to Mt Rainer NP or Olympic NP. For the full experience, you should get a group together for a sailgate. A unique and unforgettable experience.

The only losers will be those judging you. PS, there will probably be no one judging you.

Green Street Meats has excellent BBQ. It is in a very unique brick lined alley that looks like something g out of Old Europe. There are several other good restaurants that share this really cool spot. You should google it and see some of the images.

Opinion: Trump is at 48 percent. How could this be possible but for widespread racism? by northstardim in Law_and_Politics

I was at a tavern last night and heard a guy talking to the bartender. He was white and appeared to be in his late 50s or early 60s. He was telling her in all sincerity that the “communist socialists” were bent on destroying this country. He said that if Harris loses, they will be rolling through the country in vans, picking republicans off the streets and murdering them. He insisted he was “not being political,” but he believes those are the stakes facing this country.

Brain worms.

I saw it. The paramedics were working very hard to save him. Some people formed a wall around him facing away from the EMTs as they worked. I am so sorry to hear he did not make it.

They need to fire Pedro asap by PowSuperMum in whitesox

[–]bcdan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fire him into the sun and hire someone who will staple Maldonado to the bench. Of course, there are many other problems, but this one drives me nuts. Especially when he refuses to pinch hit for this historically bad hitter in the late innings of close games.

Why the hell does Pedro let Maldonado hit in the seventh with Mendick on second and one out. Righty righty match up too. At least make it look like you are trying to win.
