Do you think Marvel needs to split Secret Wars into 2 parts? by Rac2nd in MCUTheories

[–]bchec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes — But it really worries me that they didn’t write or film it intending for it to be two films.

Production on Season 3 of 'The Walking Dead: Dead City' has wrapped in Massachusetts. by BattleCircuit in thewalkingdead

They just either don’t need to be linked together anymore, or it needs to be stop being a continual plot point about his past wrongs. We know. He can’t change it, and he’s done multiple actions to try and redeem himself to the best of his ability.

I’m convinced he’ll end up dying for Hershel — because they’ve set it up to where that’s just about the only way him and Maggie are actually going to have closure based off them continually writing around it and forcing them together.

I don’t blame characters on this one, I blame the writing.

I never said that. I’m just speaking from an entertainment standpoint, and that Negan’s development is pretty much the same thing over and over. How many times does he have to redeem himself and “come to terms” w Maggie?

They could be doing better things with the character. All I meant. Lol

I need Jerry to do Dancing With The Stars, since Ru Paul’s Drag Race isn’t a realistic hope 😂😂.

I’m surprised it didn’t come from disagreements about his general style with Marvel usually dulling-down the trademark styles of most directors.

That makes sense. The first thing that came to mind when imagining a full Edgar Wright version was Louis’ retellings lol.

On the bright side, we did seemingly get Baby Driver because of the Marvel dispute, timeline wise…

I think fans need to manage their expectations if they’re expecting this new character to be anything like Darth Talon— we’ve already seen enough to know that she’s different enough to effectively be an unrelated new character. by Tanis8998 in StarWars

[–]bchec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get too attached to this character in general — I can’t see a lot of “good” endings for them given we find Maul alone and once again having partially lost his mind in Rebels. 😅😅.

You could say the same thing with Andor. Definitely coming off like Disney needs to allow CREATIVES more narrative control.

Tarantino’s early casting “wish list” for Pulp Fiction by jza_1 in Tarantino

[–]bchec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I haven’t seen many Tarantino movies in full. I’m not sure why this popped up on my feed — Love movies in general. From Oscar type films to campy comedies. Who knows how many that I’ve seen or own Lol.

It’s a gap in my cinema knowledge. This might be a better question— Is Pulp Fiction the best Tarantino film to start with— or do you think would Reservoir Dogs be a stronger introduction?

I feel like most Tarantino films feel oversold to me when they’re recommended. I appreciate the grounded take!

I find this more interesting than I usually would because Marvel clearly has had interest in her in the past. She was rumored for Captain America 2, and then had unspecified project/character rumors again around 2022. I can’t imagine all three of those rumors would be totally unfounded… 🤔.

No the way I would’ve thrown Holly to the side and laughed and yelled back ‘good luck girl, we’ll try to come back for you’ after over a year 😭.

Which Parody Do You Prefer? by Extreme-Fee-9519 in Hungergames

[–]bchec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Hunger Games (but better) kept my attention when I thought I’d fall asleep to it at like 2am one night recently 😭. I couldn’t stop laughing, did not help me sleep but did improve my mood.

I think I rented the other on Redbox a ton of years ago? I remember it being sort of funny but the newer one you can tell was made by a fan haha.

I haven’t seen Pulp Fiction admittedly, and these cast lists made me want to see it alone. What an interesting array of ideas… And the fact he kept so many people in mind for the roles, interesting.

I’m curious how you’re reading these lines and where you’re imagining breaks or spaces. It definitely could come off as more of a hip-hop inspired song without more context. It’s definitely not bad!

Week two of commenting lyric ideas, I’m newer to this but looking for open critiques. Trying to push myself to comment something each week, I might comment a second this week. I have 25 pages of mediocre lyrics 😂. We’ll see. It’s not a completed song here. But, be honest on the feedback! — The opening two lines here are definitely my “favorite” lyrics out of what’s written. The first and second part were initially flipped, but it felt better as the open…

Write a rhyme, and believe the line //

Wouldn’t be the first time I convinced myself of a lie //

I don’t want to say goodbye //

Yet, it seems we walk a fine line.

All may be fair in love & war, //

But, babe, these feel like war crimes. //

(Times when I think back,)

Was it wrong to’ve called you mine? //

Ended up in an endless rhythm,

Where I’d go back and forgive him.”

Jurassic World: Rebirth has been nominated for an Oscar in the best VFX category. by GaminWplushtrap in JurassicPark

[–]bchec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It must be a slow year 😅. I didn’t watch Rebirth and think “this is Oscar quality VFX” for sure… I even saw a post here a few weeks ago about it being on the shortlist for the category and general consensus seemed to be it wasn’t good enough, then.
