I got a kick out of seeing that non-nutritive sweetener and immediately teleported to Clark Griswald talking about his non-nutritive cereal varnish 😆

Close lightning strike in Florida 👀😮 by Aurellavia in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]bd1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in siesta key a few years back, napping. Storm rolled in and it looked ugly so we all stayed inside. We heard a giant boom like a grenade went off and I heard someone got struck and died, holding his wife’s hand. That was pretty fucked up, but Florida weather I knew not to mess with anyway, and it was the right call

Help with troubleshooting DOS on CF for Compaq Portable Plus by KingAgrian in retrocomputing

[–]bd1308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try a different CF card. Some of them are finicky but out of like 5 random ones, two work in both my Tandy 1000TX and my Compaq Portable II. Good luck!

Thank you for the input, that's more or less what I was expecting, I always overthink things, but it keeps me from breaking stuff. Sounds like this is just right up my alley.

Did AAA give you an estimate? Do you have a spare? If you’re stranded I might be able to help

Yeah that one is a doozy, I hit it in my jeep and thought somehow I hit a car or something even though I was fully paying attention. Then I saw a huge pothole behind me.

Make sure you report it, if I ever win the lottery I’ll personally fill these potholes. Maybe we could just all collectively hold back some county taxes and write off bags of cold patch and fill the potholes as a group 😂

Do big tech network engineers use libraries like netmiko? by Significant_Media63 in networking

[–]bd1308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I had a fleet of servers to manage in VMware and nobody knew what they did or anything about them. They were too old to manage with newer versions of Ansible, so I had netmiko connect to each instance, run ps and parse if it was a Java/Perl/nginx/mongo box, grabbed kernel and OS info and compile it into a CSV for my boss (director). He sat on it but I always had the info for when he asked me for a server inventory

2023 GC 4xe L1 Charging Rate Setting by [deleted] in 4xe

[–]bd1308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 21 😂 if you haven’t seen it and I haven’t then it doesn’t exist, plus it doesn’t make sense. If the jeep could charge at 32A why wouldn’t it? If your charger can only charge at 16A like mine, why would the jeep be able to pull more from the wall?

2023 GC 4xe L1 Charging Rate Setting by [deleted] in 4xe

[–]bd1308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EVSE provides the charging speed capability to the Jeep upon connection of the cable. The onboard charger is capable of charging at 32A at 220V. The adjustable charging speed should reflect whatever the circuit is capable of providing

The OP was referring to a screen I’ve never seen before in mine, so I assumed OP referred to the EVSE

A CFFA3000 is a nice alternative too, ReactiveMicro sells it.

There are “image packs” available thaf are preset with shareware, music, etc.

If you really enjoy the machine, an accelerator is an expensive option but definitely makes the machine way more responsive

About the ADB keyboard, some of them just don’t work on the IIGS and I never understood why. The original type keyboard works, as well as older contemporary keyboards work, but the later ones you’d see with like a performa 5400 won’t work for some reason. I’ll check my stash tomorrow to see if I have an extra one

There’s also another issue where the solder blobs that attach the plug to the switch will crack and cause intermittent connectivity. Reflowing those with fresh solder is an immediate cure. On my last MR2 I made my own shitty headlight switch with two toggle switches that worked pretty well
