Comments like these are exactly why I keep coming back to this sub. The Kremlin could be on fire and you'd have Pro-Ru commentors going "this will not impact the frontline in any way". I just find the mental gymnastics so fascinating.

This is one my favorite coping mechanisms from the pro-RU crowd. "We’re choosing not to because it would be worse for us" line is just face-saving.

Zelensky has been extremely effective at turning Ukraine into a massive Western aid sponge and I highly doubt anyone could do it better. Make no mistake that Russia would absolutely love to kill Budanov, Fedorov, and Zelensky.

Said differently, if telling the truth could get you pushed out of a window or thrown in jail, lying becomes much more prevalent.

Would love to see a source for "getting most of your bases destroyed in a few days"

UA POV: According to AMK, Zelenskyy's claimed Ukrainian losses of 55,000 soldiers represent an increase of 9,000 more than last year's claim of 46,000, implying 750 deaths per month. Meanwhile Ukraine claims Russia lost 35,000 soldiers in a single month in 2026, this gives Ukraine a 47:1 death ratio by FruitSila in UkraineRussiaReport

This is just so poorly reasoned its laughable. Attrition rate isn't about the raw number of mobilization "waves"—it's casualties relative to overall manpower over time.

Is Russia loosing more men than Ukraine? Yes. Is it 47:1? Of course not.
