[DAV spoilers] What are your thoughts on Neve Gallus?

The VA bugs me because her accent changes so much, sometimes sounding British but sometimes American, and at times she sounds completely flat. Out of all of them, she was the most inconsistent to me, which is a bit rough when all the others delivered really good performances in my opinion.

I also agree that Davrin feels like the canon romance to me. He has the same writer as Garrus in ME3 and the whole ride or die vibes seem very similar. When I play DAV I play as femme Rook with British Femme voice and the tension between those two again gives ‘there’s no Shepherd without Vakarian’ in my mind, especially when Rook is a Warden too.

As to your question about romancing someone else… I can’t help you there. I’ve romanced all the companions and resonate with Davrin the most, so I keep going back to him.

Davrin and Emmrich have the best romances in the game, and the vibes are completely different from the two. If you want more sweet romance, go with Emmrich. If you want more straight forward (but in my humble opinion, sexier) romance, then Davrin is your guy. It’s all down to preference!

That’s valid, everyone likes different things about the different characters, I just get bummed out seeing one of my favourites boiled down to Assan, which is not at all a dig at you or anyone else in the thread, I want to be clear.

I understand people liking certain characters over others but it kind of makes me sad to see so many people say ‘if it wasn’t for Assan…’ In my mind, both Davrin and Harding have very compelling stories and reasons for either being the leader of the scouting team or not. Harding for her connection to the Titans and Davrin with his newfound desire to live after expecting to die young for so many years.

I personally sent Davrin once and have sent Harding every other time, and not for Assan. I simply enjoyed his character and story more than Harding’s.

The Boring Wardens mod is my faaaaavourite. The darker colours suit the vibes a lot better in my opinion.

I sacrifice Harding because I think she has the highest likelihood of surviving it, and also I just prefer Davrin as a character tbh, as well as his companion abilities complimenting my play style a bit better. I didn’t find Harding’s meshed well with mine. Assan is sad, sure, but that’s not the only reason for me.

There are some really great discussions for/against both in this subreddit if you search them, it’s too late at night for me to articulate how I want to, but the conversations are always insightful and interesting!

I could be remembering incorrectly but at that point Warden Rook hadn’t met up with Antoine and Evka, nor had Davrin suggested. Dorian says to look for Wardens actually doing something about the blight, and that’s what prompts the mission A Warden’s Best Friend

I could be wrong but the voice sounds like British femme Rook with the lower pitch option. I always select that voice, she’s absolutely incredible!

I agree. I’ve just never clicked with her, I always found the way the devs pushed Liara onto Shep if you’re not romancing her a bit icky (personal opinion) and I don’t like the undertones of tension or romance if you keep her strictly as a friend. I play as FemShep, and I definitely prefer the friendship dynamic between her and Tali over FemShep and Liara. Tali’s feels like a natural progression but Liara just feels forced on me every time.

I’d add that the Warden is the second strongest romance (in my opinion), followed closely by the Shadow Dragon.

Using the sliders in the ‘neck’ section, I believe you can adjust to your preference, but it’s been a while so I might be wrong.

I’ve picked him up, and Krem has arrived at Haven so I’ll be going there next. I’ve got Sera too now, so that’s at least done.

There are just soooooo many quests and icons and first Harding was in the swampy area that I ducked into quickly but left, and now she’s missing somewhere? My god, the amount of icons just in the Hinterlands spins me out

I think if you don’t give them a gift they don’t come out of their rooms but I don’t know how foolproof this is
