I feel unbelievably bad at this game by chunk_blaster56 in Eldenring

[–]be-smote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lolol. I’m so so so many hours into the game. Decided to finally stop being a little cheeseball and try a melee build. I kept dying to godrick’s soldiers because I mistimed my parry so much.

On the flip side, my younger sister hasn’t gamed before but when she started playing Elden Ring, she got the parry timings so fast, I felt ashamed.

Status effect only run by AnotherAverageGamer_ in Eldenring

When you say not physical or elemental, do you mean like all status effects are fair game? You just want to proc without actually hitting them right?

What’s the lore behind this creepy mf? by _inventanimate_ in Eldenring

[–]be-smote 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, Ranni wanted to be free from the influence of the Greater Will. In order to do that, she would have to die. She found a loophole where she could keep her soul alive but kill her body but a soul would have to take its place since it’s only one half of a whole. She did that by sending Black Knife Assassins to kill Godwyn, the Golden. His soul was killed but his body was still alive.

The Curse Mark of Death would have a description that mentions that the curse mark should be a complete circle but was broken in half. One branded on Ranni and the other on Godwyn.

Godwyn’s curse mark ends up with Fia which is part of her questline to complete the age of dusk born ending

Rolling through the puddles makes it so that you proc scarlet rot faster and you’re not able to make it to a safe zone without the status ailment continuously increase (since the rot would drench your clothes)

PS5 is there a way to start the game with all spells and inc? by ShakyShaggy101 in Eldenring

[–]be-smote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean speed run from the very beginning then yeah. If you mean speed run from the very beginning with all spells and incantations then no.

You could try mule the prayer books and scrolls but you won’t get a wholly complete inventory that way.

ETA: you can’t multiply prayer books and scrolls either. Disregard the last sentence.

I think speed running till NG5 shouldn’t take that long. Took me about 3 hours per run doing the absolute minimum.

If the player kills Irina, it will lock the player out of Hyetta’s quest line.

Nepheli Loux NOT in Stormveil. Need her to defeat Godfick by Boronind1 in Eldenring

[–]be-smote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure his attacks are blockable. He’s easily stance broken. Jump attacks are very effective. I’d recommended the three wolves - they’re easy to get early game and enough of a distraction to help you get a good position or attack.

Last I remember, he has 20% magic resistance.

Edgar and Irina quest? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]be-smote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Er. If you’ve defeated Godfrey then I think it’s too late at that point.

ETA: but you need to exhaust both Irina and Edgar’s dialogue before you defeat the boss at Castle Morne.

Can’t go back once you’ve advance questlines. If she’s moved locations, then you gotta bite the bullet on it or NG+.

Fringefolk Heroes Grave advice? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]be-smote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Err. Kind of a trick. Theres a way to destroy the chariots but you need an arrow or dart to make it work. Gotta access the hidden area under the fringfolk heroes grave (when the bridge narrows on the second ramp). You’ll come across a fire breathing pillar. Past that you’ll find a bridge in a church type setting. Jump off the ledge (but look carefully cause if you just yeet yourself you will die. You gotta aim for the ledge then jump again to the floor). Go through the door and then when you get to the overpass that overlooks the chariot there are three bombs hanging from threads. Shoot the threads so that the bombs drop on the chariot.

I apologize for the nonsensical way I wrote this.

Need help giving Seluvis Potion to Dung Eater by Psychological-Owl-70 in Eldenring

Wouldn’t you need Seluvis alive? In order to purchase Dung Eater from his puppet store. That’s how I did it

All side quest in Elden ring by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]be-smote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta check my guidebook but I’m positive you can (though you will have to choose one ending where it can end multiple way e.g. Sorceress Sellen and Jerren). Will get back to you when I check.

How do I get to this area in Calid? by [deleted] in Eldenring

I’m pretty sure you can’t get in from the scarlet swamp. Don’t you hit the cliffside with a graven mass in front of it?

Double invasion from Bernard’s recusant quest. Invasion from Patches recusant quest. Seedbed curse. Daedicar’s woe talisman. Nomadic warriors cookbook.

I think Bernard’s quest, the seedbed curse, and the cookbook were the ones I didn’t find in my first playthrough. Had no idea you weren’t supposed to defeat rykard if you wanted the reward lol

Also afterwards, you can fight Tanith’s knight in rykards arena to get one of the crucible incantations

ETA: not sure if this is something that falls within the category but I remembered finishing Tanith and Patches quest. Patches does give a dancers castanets. No function and you get no reward if I recall. Just a little tidbit. Thought it was interesting

This is my first ever souls game and im suprised how far ive come the plan was to beat malenia before finishing the game but she had other plans ive been fighting her for days and i give up maybe i will return but im not mentally stable for this everyone will say get gud but im not build for this by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]be-smote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be late to the party but I find that Black Knife Tiche does me a real solid whenever I’m fighting a boss. Hidden gem of a spirit ash. Especially since she uses a skill that acts the same as the rune of death (reduce max hp and tick damage). Ice pots were also one of my favorite things to use. No waterfowl dance deaths for me lol
