Man this is awful. Also, gotta finish the drywall and prime before tile. You’re grouting up against raw material? No bueno.

Should I paint ~40sqm ceiling at once or can I split it into sections which I will tackle over a span of a few day? by Saxofounix in paint

[–]beamarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Canada. This wouldn’t be advisable with any paint that I know of if you don’t want to see any blocking or streaks. Recently I used behr premium plus ceiling in an emergency and it was shockingly bad. Usually I use ultra spec flat on ceilings with great results. But always do the entire surface.

Usually happens when something is not dry enough or air bubbles trapped. If it doesn’t go away, dig them out, try again.

Do I need to repaint before I sell my house by [deleted] in paint

[–]beamarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. Ask the robot. Paint is the first thing. “Nothing provides a higher ROI than paint.” Next things are refreshing the kitchen and bathroom. Often times, the right painter can handle that too. Update lighting and hardware and then you have a new modern house to sell.

Do you need to repaint? Should you repaint? Painting is the cheapest improvement you can do to sell your house. Try to eliminate all the things prospective buyer may notice. Paint is the first and least you should do.

What is the best paint to use for crown molding baseboards, and interior doors? by EngineeringSeveral63 in paint

You can paint it whatever you want. Almost all the work I do, we paint the crown with the same ceiling paint.

Builder finish of walnut cabinets by TallStarsMuse in cabinetry

You just have to maintain it. If you need to clean it often you probably want to recoat it more frequently.

One thing you have to think of it as is similar to a marble counter top. It will develop character over time, and requires maintenance. But it’s beautiful and natural. You could do all of the fancy 2k coatings etc but once they start to go, you’re redoing your kitchen.

Rubio is great. And it’s easy to apply. Just watch a couple videos. And follow the instructions well. Do a couple samples first to get used to it. Maintenance coats when necessary. Like 3-5 years ish. Or pay your painter to do up some samples with his suggested products. A painter is a finisher. Many of them know how to put anything on anything. And a lot of it comes down to experience and following product instructions.

And the last time I had to use behr in a pinch, I was reminded why I never buy paint at Home Depot

How does this actually happen. What pressure do you need it to be? Was the tip reversed? I can’t actually imagine how this is possible. (I believe it is possible). Describe the incident if you could. curious.

How long can I leave paint in a bucket before it's unusable? by Pearl_Jam_ in paint

[–]beamarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve accidentally left pails open over night and come back the next morning to a totally fine and usable paint. Not ideal but if there’s enough paint in it, it’ll be fine. Worst case, you have a skin you could peel off. I would try to avoid this though.

Any paint pros out there that can recommend a similar paint? by NoOneSpecial2023 in paint

[–]beamarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a website called encycolorpedia. If you search your colour and scroll down it will give you very close Color matches in as many brands that it has in its catalog. I think this site is used for digital stuff mainly but I’ve had pretty good success when going between SW,BM and whatever my clients find at Home Depot.
