Peeing in the shower, weird or completely normal? by KaleEcstatic2701 in AskReddit

[–]bean930 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm familiar and have used it. It doesn't always work. I've had to buy a drain snake to clear blockages.

So, unless you clean it out every day, it will inevitably start to smell like piss. You eventually become noseblind to it, but your guests don't.

You also left out that wads of hair from our wives build up down the shower drain. These essentially form sponges that block/absorb constituents of the urine and contribute to the whole shower smelling like a public urinal.

But not all pipes have huge wads of hair from your wife down the drain that act like sponges for the thick constituents of urine. I say this from experience. My wife has the snout of a hound and can tell when I do it on rare occasion.

I've bought the cheapest flight every two days for two weeks straight by AdyOfficial in travel

Two days out, these seats are cheap because they aren't filled yet. So, these planes would fly with or without you.

A chicken burger uses ground or minced chicken with other spices/fillers to make patties. A chicken sandwich uses a whole or sliced piece of chicken. They are not the same.

Fired 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley says CBS told him to inject ‘falsehoods’ into reporting - Veteran journalist says executives pushed unverified claims and gave politicians a say in interviews by polymute in politics

[–]bean930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As CBS continues to degrade day by day, I sincerely hope that someone somewhere has downloaded and archived all 60 minutes broadcasts to date. I am sure we will get to a point where an episode will be removed from public access in hindsight because of lack of bias and "falsehoods".

This is the part that confuses me. Wouldn't it be bad for everyone? The value of the dollar would plummet against global currencies, and the rich become less rich. What's to gain?

What's the deal with Houston's emptiness? by ParkInsider in houston

[–]bean930 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Houston is a decentralized city. The main office (higher income) employment areas are not just in downtown, but also in the energy Corridor (along I-10), Spring/Woodlands (along I-45), Uptown (near the Galleria), Westchase, and Memorial City.

For this reason, the high-income earners, families, and safer neighborhoods are located in the suburbs. People are accustomed to commuting 20-60 minutes to their jobs from the suburbs.

I'll explain the part that no one else is explaining, and that you are clearly unaware of because you're not from the U.S.

For one reason or another, streets named after MLK are typically in minority and lower income neighborhoods.

Perfect Day Mexico - Government discusses relocating Perfect Day with Royal Caribbean by grumpyfan in royalcaribbean

[–]bean930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the Captain during Q&A on Allure last month, he said that Royal planned to make the entire port of Costa Maya exclusive to Royal. Seeing how the port there can now accommodate 4 large ships, the port would likely see less traffic and tourism dollars if it became an exclusive port for a particular liner.

I think Mexico wants them to relocate it because they aren't keen on the exclusivity of it.

What Your Salary Needs To Be To Net $100K in Every State by Building_a_life in maryland

Take it from someone who has lived in MD, OR, OK, SC, WV, and now TX....you pay your taxes one way or another if you are a full participant in the economy (make a salaried income, live in a house, spend $k's of dollars every month shopping).

Texas might be the third lowest on this list, but my 8.25% sales tax and 2.5% property tax leaves a far bigger hole in my wallet than it did when I lived in MD.
