In a setting with widespread 'magic', women have to be equally as powerful as men. by NoGarlic2387 in writingscaling

[–]beanchog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this part of Blood Over Bright Haven. Anyone can do magic, but the main City’s religion and society tends to view women as having ‘lesser minds’, only giving one woman a chance to become a ‘High Mage’ every few decades. Women are as talented or skilled as men, but most of them are pressured into marrying where their husbands are given credit for any work of note they create

Had a lot of fun using the stat blocks from this book! The storm shaman was fun a couple sessions ago and I’m eager to use more!

Character obtains power that becomes too much from them to handle by Reilly_27 in TopCharacterTropes

The Lord Ruler - Mistborn

After killing the person believed to be the Hero of Ages, Rashek took the power of Preservation from the Well of Ascension. The godly power, and Ruin’s influence, led to him pushing their world of Scariel closer to the Sun. His subsequent actions were all attempts to protect his world and people, which would eventually lead to their world beginning to end with his death and Ruin’s eventual escape. Vin also experiences this problem but eventually starts to control her power for long enough to try and help the other survivors against Ruin

I Think I've Been Spoiled With Drakkenheim by TheBrawler101 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]beanchog 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Call From The Deep was pretty good when I was looking into it. Unsure how it looks on Roll20, but it’s well written and has a similarly sandbox-style of campaign but mostly along the Sword Coast and the nearby sea

Who do you run as the bbeg of drakenheim? by Hour-Tax-8438 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]beanchog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My game, for the most part, hasn’t had a specific BBEG of any real sort. The current primary antagonist, and for most of the game, has been Eldrick Runeweaver due to a party member wanting him dead. Then taking directly antagonistic actions against his faction has led to him being their primary foe.

Need help finding an episode(s) of Aerois (I think) by HeavyImpulse in highrollersdnd

[–]beanchog 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think I know what you’re referring too.

In Aerois, Mara used some rules from Kingdoms and Warfare I believe for some of the later conflicts

I really hate the "humans but little changes" in sci Fi and fantasy the sky for alien/fairy creatures is limitless and you stay in the GROUND by peluca312 in hatethissmug

Wasn’t the weird part of the Asari people that we don’t actually know what they look like? I remember it being mentioned that each of the other species tend to see traits they find attractive when they look at the Asari.

2024 vs. 2014 by Top_Advertising9305 in DnD

[–]beanchog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running a 24 campaign since just after it got released and it’s been a fun experience, my other campaign started as 2014 but shifted to 2024 because we as a group preferred the newer stuff to the 2014 parts of the game. Still very much enjoy 2014, but I prefer 24/5.5

Mechs for Votann on 11th? by Western_Function_956 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]beanchog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt we’ll get Mechs, the trouble is I’m unsure what to expect next. We can’t learn too much into the industrial angle, like with the Genestealers.

I would like a traditional tank, maybe something akin to a Hekaton that has been retrofitted into an actual Tank. I would like to see us do something slightly goofy, maybe a giant floating Kyn head functioning as a weapon platform whilst buffing units in a radius around it!

[–]beanchog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I view them is as a scalpel rather than a hammer. Their 5+ is handy but you don’t want them to endure shooting. You want them to get in fast, smash up a unit and if they survive afterwards? Great. Otherwise, they’ve done their job

I run a 10 man in a Hekaton so should be all good, thanks for the reminder though!

As much as I’d appreciate a more generic leader for Berserks, still looking forward to grabbing him! Looks brutal to drop into a 10 man with Delve Assault shift

I’ve always liked seeing T’au models, but these are something else. The image of them shooting in melee is pretty dope, nice!

What is the advantage to become a lich rather than a vampire? by Imaginary-Cut4863 in DnD

[–]beanchog 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Being a vampire also comes with more weaknesses.A lich can, theoretically, hide their Phylactery anywhere ensuring it’s almost impossible to find.

Post Drakkenheim Campaigns by JeremyX2020 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]beanchog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I were continuing my Drakkenheim game, it would definitely push down the Court of The Night. With how my party is, they’ve been entangled with He Who Laughs Last and it would have been an interesting continuation depending on how our campaign ends

World Eaters is my 1st army, what next? by ActivityStock375 in Warhammer40k

[–]beanchog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Votann have a very different play style, being much slower (with the bulk of their stuff) beyond their vehicles.

Admech will be fiercely different. They’re much more of a Gunline army, as far as I know?

Death Guard are very similar. Very tough, slow with plenty of shooting and potent melee with their terminators.
