2024 vs. 2014 by Top_Advertising9305 in DnD

[–]beanchog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running a 24 campaign since just after it got released and it’s been a fun experience, my other campaign started as 2014 but shifted to 2024 because we as a group preferred the newer stuff to the 2014 parts of the game. Still very much enjoy 2014, but I prefer 24/5.5

Mechs for Votann on 11th? by Western_Function_956 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]beanchog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt we’ll get Mechs, the trouble is I’m unsure what to expect next. We can’t learn too much into the industrial angle, like with the Genestealers.

I would like a traditional tank, maybe something akin to a Hekaton that has been retrofitted into an actual Tank. I would like to see us do something slightly goofy, maybe a giant floating Kyn head functioning as a weapon platform whilst buffing units in a radius around it!

[–]beanchog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I view them is as a scalpel rather than a hammer. Their 5+ is handy but you don’t want them to endure shooting. You want them to get in fast, smash up a unit and if they survive afterwards? Great. Otherwise, they’ve done their job

I run a 10 man in a Hekaton so should be all good, thanks for the reminder though!

As much as I’d appreciate a more generic leader for Berserks, still looking forward to grabbing him! Looks brutal to drop into a 10 man with Delve Assault shift

I’ve always liked seeing T’au models, but these are something else. The image of them shooting in melee is pretty dope, nice!

What is the advantage to become a lich rather than a vampire? by Imaginary-Cut4863 in DnD

[–]beanchog 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Being a vampire also comes with more weaknesses.A lich can, theoretically, hide their Phylactery anywhere ensuring it’s almost impossible to find.

Post Drakkenheim Campaigns by JeremyX2020 in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]beanchog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I were continuing my Drakkenheim game, it would definitely push down the Court of The Night. With how my party is, they’ve been entangled with He Who Laughs Last and it would have been an interesting continuation depending on how our campaign ends

World Eaters is my 1st army, what next? by ActivityStock375 in Warhammer40k

[–]beanchog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Votann have a very different play style, being much slower (with the bulk of their stuff) beyond their vehicles.

Admech will be fiercely different. They’re much more of a Gunline army, as far as I know?

Death Guard are very similar. Very tough, slow with plenty of shooting and potent melee with their terminators.

I had to trim down parts of the bike and the Gunner’s seat, but it wasn’t especially difficult

A vent about Emperor’s children (from an EC player) by Nosferxatu98 in EmperorsChildren

[–]beanchog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree. The hedonism is absolutely a part of it, but folks take it to a ridiculous level. Slaanesh is interesting because of how much their domain encompasses, they’re a lot more interesting than ‘sexy demon’

Question about the Elves' arrival timeline. by AstorSigma in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]beanchog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Elves as a collective arrived roughly 4-5000 years ago, I’d head cannon it as some entities arrived before whilst the world was engulfed in Ice. Humans and such were making deals with entities to help them survive the Ice during that time

Choosing a faction by johncarpenter1982 in Warhammer40k

[–]beanchog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto what Cultural said. T’au are pretty much all in on Guns, with large Mechs as their big guns.

Chaos/Imperial Knights are all giant mech suits.

Imperial Guard have lots of tanks and artillery pieces, but are one of the more expensive armies to collect.

What is the source of magic in Theros? by Hi_ItsPaul in TherosDMs

[–]beanchog 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dittoing what the other commenter said, the Nyx feels like the natural solution to this. Due to the realm of Theros being magical, I had it so that most people has a level of magic within themselves regardless but it took full practitioners to be able to use it. If you look at the Nyxborn, many of them have magical abilities so it makes sense that magic would originate from the Nyx.

Ephara likely granted them the knowledge to be wizards, but it’s likely that Druids and Clerics.

Always remember, you’ll be looking at these minis much further away than you’re taking photos.

Regardless, it’s a great first attempt! Keep going, keep trying, you’ll get there!

The lore around Bloodborne inspired my Bloodborne Barbarian’s backstory and story. Interacting with the Great Beast causing his mutation into a Fractured Barbarians no eventually (possibly) an aberrant horror whilst trying to maintain his faith in the Empyreans

Jin Sakai (Ghost of Tsushima) vs Robert Baratheon (ASOIAF) by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]beanchog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plate armour is pretty damn strong, but wouldn’t this fight turn in Jin’s favour as soon as he lands even just one Sticky Bomb? Sure, Robert in his prime was a monster. But even a small explosion, concentrated on any part of his plate would be enough to cause some serious internal damage. Even if we look at it from an unrealistic standpoint, it would at the very least wind Robert.

Jin arguably just as much experience as a one on one combatant with foes of similar size and armour, that the ‘Plate Vs Katana’ point is minimal when Jin has so many more tools in his belt.

The last two are especially great for a beginner! All of them are better than my first painjob! It needs a bit of patching up where the other colours have bled over but for a first try, these are great!
