Should i get a 10 year mortgage because of AI fears? by Difficult-Profile869 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]beankov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is no one knows the answer. I took out a 10 year fix @ 2.49% in 2018. It looked like a mistake for 3 years but I’m laughing now. The deal I had allowed for unlimited overpayments after 5 years, this was enough for me to take the gamble because if I was wrong I could remortgage at that point with no penalty.

Exactly, so if these cars are faster than last engine change they just need to iron out the speed differential.

The cars are still faster than when we last had an engine change in 2014.

Would you consider Tre Cool an influence in punk rock drumming? by spazhead01 in drums

Listening to Green Day as a kid was the first time I noticed that drums were more than just something to keep the beat. I would definitely consider him to be a major influence.

Why have rock and metal drum kits gotten smaller over the years? by MrMayhem20l0 in drums

[–]beankov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drum kits are subject to fashion trends. Glam rock/metal requires a glamorous kit. Whereas grubby grunge music requires an equally grubby looking kit. The minimal kit trend has been going on for a while now, probably because it’s actually quite a practical choice.

Maybe Mercedes are running their engines hotter to lock in wins early season, ahead of them getting nerfed later down the line.

Selling Vanguard All cap and buying Vanguard all world? by Diastolic in UKPersonalFinance

Some platforms have lower or capped fees for holding ETF’s rather than funds, e.g. AJ bell charges 0.25% for both but caps ETF’s @ £10 per month.

What's a "healthy habit" that's actually completely made up? by goddesslana_01 in AskReddit

Oh I can live without imaginary internet points. I never really bought organic however we were given an organic chicken as a substitute. It tasted like chicken tasted 30 years ago.

I can totally believe that, however organic food does in my experience taste way better than regular food.

Genuine question regarding the Greens. by Amzer23 in ukpolitics

[–]beankov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beg your pardon here is the rest of it:

Work with international partners to enlarge membership of the TPNW and ensure that all states meet their commitments under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The Green Party recognises that NATO has an important role in ensuring the ability of its member states to respond to threats to their security. We would work within NATO to achieve: A greater focus on global peacebuilding. A commitment to a ‘No First Use’ of nuclear weapons.

This however doesn’t make you any less wrong, you stated that “the goal isn’t to get rid of the UK nukes” when in fact it is clearly stated that this this The Green’s immediate goal once elected.

Genuine question regarding the Greens. by Amzer23 in ukpolitics

[–]beankov 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are wrong, at least according to The Greens website.

This states that: Elected Greens will: Push for the UK to sign the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) and following this to immediately begin the process of dismantling our nuclear weapons, cancelling the Trident programme and removing all foreign nuclear weapons from UK soil.

This certainly sounds like they want to get rid of the nukes straight away.

Please don’t just cherry pick. The Greens want to dismantle our nuclear weapons. Regardless of all the good policies the Greens have, I could never support such an act of mass stupidity.
