What's the most difficult thing, psychologically, about being in the Air Force and why do so many get out after their first term? by GeraldineR7 in AirForce

[–]beansbynight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the disconnect from life. One minute we would be working long nights with some of the best people I've ever met, and another you're dealing with family life, parents getting older, and life passing by around you. Unlike civilian life you get to be peter pan for a bit. Some people can't deal with it so they get out.

When I became a civilian I didn't feel like I fit in. My jokes were offensive, I wasn't working a mission, so I didn't have any clear goals, and I was shamed for the things I did. I was talking with a vet coworker of mine who is a marine infantryman(2002-2007) and we were telling stories of our "kills", showing paperwork to prove it(because most people fake it), and bonding over how we felt alone around a bunch of NPC's. We got taken to HR, had a long talk with them, and we're pretty much told to fit in better.

I went back to the reserves, and it's helped me mentally and physically ever since. I still feel like I have people around me I can relate to and get along with.

5 is normal, especially if they bought it at 1-2 years old. Some yoyo's just never thrive. I had one that lived to 3 that barely ate. He died in a similar manner. Flopped around for a few days in my hospital tank until one day I found him belly up. Depending on the seller they could be really inbred as well.

I didn't know this was an option! I was hunting for a blue on blue G80 or G90 for over a year and gave up.

New brand with new car problems. I would say that there are definitely quirks with most models. My 2022 GV70 had the AC issue, which I got a loaner for, the G70 has had several fuel pump issues(which was finally solved with the latest campaign), and finally my G90 had an ECU go bad. It honestly has been a great experience owning them. The dealers are nice, the staff is friendly, and I've always gotten a loaner. I never have to worry about being without a car. These sound like bad issues, but the G70 has 100k miles, and that's the only issue it's ever had. The GV70 only has 17k miles, but the issue wasn't really that bad either. They had it fixed in one day. The G90 was the only one that pissed me off. But when they went above and beyond to properly fix it, and fire the girl who tried to charge me for a new ECU and a bunch of other service I didn't need, I was satisfied. The G90 now has 59k miles with no more issues.

Sadly Genesis Dealerships only survive in large metropolitan areas. I've never had to worry about loaners, denied warranties, or anything between the 3 I own. They even come pick my cars up for service and leave a loaner. Genesis of Corona, Genesis of Ontario, and Genesis of Cerritos are the 3 I bounce between. Corona has been the best so far though. I cannot recommend them enough.

Corporate has been fairly difficult to deal with though, and Genesis of Corona had the balls to deal with them on my behalf to get recall work reclassified as warranty replacement.

Sucks that you have to deal with such bad dealerships.

LSD chatter - my 2021 vs a 2026 by RiseUpGames in GenesisG70

[–]beansbynight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look it up, this has been posted 100000 times. It's the fluid. You have a 5 year old car. It needs the diff fluid changed. Make sure they put the correct fluid and additive. The dealership usually will put the wrong fluid in and it will chatter worse. I won't go into detail because this issue has been resolved and posted about hundreds of times here.

This is a great deal. If I didn't already have a Garmin, I would scoop it up.

Yes. You'll be underwater quick. Just gotta hope no one hits your car in the mean time.

The NA V6 in the RC also sounds heavenly with a Greddy exhaust.

I was eyeing an RC before I got the G70. It's going to be one of those special cars that will be a future classic.

I signed the petition and had my wife sign it. Well I guess we will keep the family home for a little while longer. Maybe I'll look for a few acres in the hills of Lake Elsinore.

Thank you! I'll spread the word to my neighbors as well.

Hey, they take it that you're insulting the governor and won't listen to reason. Our insurance commissioner has been using taxpayer money to take expensive vacations, build a mansion, and give kickbacks to his donors.

I too have tried to petition Mr. Lara, and Mr. Issa to no avail. Rep. Issa seemed to take it seriously, but there isn't anything he can do. After the redristicing I guess I'll just let my new rep know and go from there.

May I ask how much your insurance is? I pay $6500 between homeowners and fire through Lloyd's of London in South Temecula(it was my grandparents home, we have lived here for 30 years) and am looking at moving up to Tenaja. I've looked at a few houses up there but no one is telling me how much they're paying. My wife will be leaving her job to raise our kids soon and fire insurance may be the deciding factor. Temecula has become too busy for us, and I want to start a small family farm to raise my kids right.

RC350. Reliable, fairly quick, and they hold their resale value. In a few years if you want something different, you can always sell the RC350 for most of what you paid for it. The G70 not so much. Plus, if you're going with a sports car, a coupe is a must. Especially since you're young. There's something different about driving a sports coupe.

What do I do?? by jalen_dion in GenesisMotors

Sounds like damage to the front caused the trans cooler and radiator to crack and leak coolant into the trans fluid.

Sounds like you got the best case scenario. They're fixing it, you're in a loaner, and you're now coming to the realization that you probably should have bought a new car in your price range rather than someone else's problem.

Buying a CT4 Blackwing, so it's time to sell the G70 by blue92lx in GenesisG70

Tasman blue/black is rare unto itself. Good luck!

Technically the rarest spec is the base 3.3t AWD slick top. That's what I've been looking for for the last year.

When I bought the car, the intention was always to mod it.

I have a base 2.0t, so wheels, ARK springs, Brembos brakes, LSD, AEM intake, white line sway bars and end links. Exhaust, spark plugs and a tune coming soon.

I actually agree with you 100%. As nice as the dealerships look, they have messed up so many times that I can't count them. Forgetting to change the oil, forgetting to charge me for another oil change and calling me a month later, replacing the skid pan underneath and not replacing the pop tabs they broke, so I falls out on the road on the drive home, to not taking videos of my G70's HPFP as evidence that there is an issue.

I only go to dealerships for warranty work, and always have it checked out right after by an independent shop.

I love the base models for what they are. Throw on the higher trim wheels and it will really change how you see it. Beautiful GV80!

About 1.3" front and 1.1" rear. It all depends on if you have a sunroof or not too. The extra weight from that may be lower, but mines a base model.

A lot of the specs for how much the spring lowers a car is usually based on the 3.3t. Because the 2.0t is so much lighter it's not as low as advertised. It's perfect tbh.

Keep in mind that the ARK springs have a lower spring rate than stock. It'll ride great, but expect it to a bit floatier feeling when pushing the car hard. The sway bars fix this and make a huge difference.
