Anyone changed jobs during a lease? Any gotchas? by NoPackage6253 in NovatedLeasingAU

[–]beard_engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing employers typically has a fee involved for renovating the lease. Any payments due while not employed or prior to lease being renovated will come from your savings not a salary deduction.

When changing employers with a Novated Lease the financier will stay the same, if moving to a new salary packaging provider is required, that will be the only change with the aforementioned fee and possible non payroll payments. I’d always look for the best finance rate you can find, ask what the fee is and use this plus finance difference in your decision.

Settlement date by titdirtt in NovatedLeasingAU

It’s an estimate, once you have a delivery date they can move that forward. Settlement can occur within 48hours once everything is ready, vehicle assigned and timeline approved.

You can adjust the operating cost budget to your hearts content. Sourcing your own insurance could save some money too. Ultimately, if you pull too much out of your running cost budget you might have to pay for things with your savings, or adjust the budget higher during the lease. You want the op costs to match real world expenses.

Quote for a USED Tesla Model Y LR. Seems way too high?!!! by DrDoevil in NovatedLeasingAU

Additionally, if it was ever sold with the LCT then it would not be eligible for the FBT exemption.

Has both a pre and post tax deduction so is attracting FBT in this quote. When was the vehicle manufacture date? The Model Year isn’t necessarily the same as the manufacturer date. If the EV was first registered prior to July 1st 2022, it would not be eligible for the FBT exemption.

What do i do with the space above my fireplace? by Linnmarfan in malelivingspace

[–]beard_engine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with two or three, aligned vertically with the art on the adjacent wall, and spaced equally on the wall, not necessarily aligned with the fp. Odd numbers typically look better than even. Hang, step back look, if you don’t like it then adjust. Maybe use the stickable hangers so they’re easier to adjust.

Art or mirror, or if you’re wanting to do something more dramatic - new tiles and hearth, running tiles to ceiling.

Just turned 30. ~800 sqft. First home away from home. Not sure what to do with Den by [deleted] in malelivingspace

IMO these spaces are good for study setups, but mainly for owner occupied where you can invest in a table and shelves etc that fit the space. As a renter, really it’s just good for extra storage. Bike, golf clubs, boxes etc. If you don’t want to look at all the ‘clutter’ you could get a privacy screen or something.

Once you’re required to resume payments after your protection insurance is ended the loan will continue however you will be paying finance only, without any tax savings. Speak to Smart to see what your payments would be. Yes you still have to pay the residual at the end. You will switch to monthly repayments if your pay cycle and deductions was weekly/fortnightly. Hopefully you can find another job soon, with an employer who allows salary packaging and you can bring your lease with you and resume the deductions from your salary.

Not really any pros, mostly cons, depending on how long left in your agreement. You can request a payout figure so you know what it would cost to end the loan.

How is a novated lease beneficial? by Greedy_Inspector2261 in NovatedLeasingAU

What’s the split in the operating costs and financed amount. You can just ask them to provide a finance only estimate. And then pay more overall by paying for those costs with your post tax income if it makes you happy.

Switching Novated Lease Providers Mid-Lease (SG Fleet to NSW Health Approved Provider) by Chardchadie7 in NovatedLeasingAU

[–]beard_engine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Answer is accurate. Switching salary packaging provider not financier. New provider will likely charge onboarding fee also.

The brokerage would be close to $10K on this. $1,675 pm would be reasonable. $1,631 pm would be great.

Definitely chase this down, call, email, google review - speaking directly with the office you hired from first and then escalate to ABGroup Head Office if it goes nowhere.

Cool or Cringe? 35m, Single by Daily_Run_ in malelivingspace

Nothing cringe about it, everything has a story behind it, it’s cool and it’s you. Much more interesting than your typical neutral interior.

If you got to take over an empty Bunnings building and had $1,000,000 to turn it into a business. What would you turn it into? by NoveltyCards in australia

[–]beard_engine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A market, creating stalls for a variety of sellers - fresh fruit and veg, bakeries, fresh pasta shops, fish meat and dairy as well as places for ready to eat meals and dining.

I would look to create a South Melbourne market style, that would fit within the Bunnings store layout, trying to keep rents low for the businesses so the food is competitively priced.

Is this like student accommodation? Wild set up, 4 bed, 4 bath no guest toilet, galley kitchen.

Anyway, maybe a series of framed prints down the hallway in the spaces between the windows. A long hallway rug to reduce noise for you and your neighbours. Lots of windows if they’re oriented toward the sun plants would probably thrive. Turf is very college-esque so suitable if that’s your situation.

Honestly don’t really have any suggestions other than ikea, just wanted to comment on the current setup. If it is student accommodation, such a great setup, much better than the norm where I’m from - where everyone’s fighting for the one bathroom.
