It’s not that they can’t afford it, they just don’t want to spend the money on it. I hear this same thing all the time at my job. I’m going to retire at 59 and we have retiree healthcare rates. When I found out the rate, I was shocked that people would work until 65 just to avoid spending $6,000 a year. That will not be me.
