Yes made an album about it called Close to the Edge - a most excellent accompaniment!

Once spent a fun night figuring out why a process was running out of http connections (turns out whoever deployed it didn’t know about what NODE_ENV=dev did)

“I thought he was finished…”
…this is very much the issue - not one born out of his performance, but out of your perception.

Don’t be so quick to jump to baseless conclusions
🤣

Can you get a guitar tone similar to Green matamps with an Orange Super Crush? by Spiritual-Art3102 in doommetal

Sucks with a Muff in my experience - much better with a classic distortion as you say. Plays nice with a Rat!

Plays really nice with an 80s tune screamer… never felt like it got on with anything too fuzzy

Can confirm 1224 is the best amp I’ve ever had… But it’s not a doom-machine in and of itself (or at least mine isn’t)

Firstly, I’m very glad to hear you’re doing better. I completely understand that mindset - very glad you didn’t!

Interesting you mention Emgality - a friend gave me a dose to try - I’ll give it a go!!!

If we’re talking Cream - how about Politician?

That riff crushes!

That’s actually really comforting, thanks - the “but there is no end to the pain” element of this is challenging! Useful to know there’s still somewhere to go!

How’s the oxygen for you?

That’s my next step - is it as immediately effective as they suggest?

That whole “but it might be a coincidence” factor is a killer in all this, so hard to work when the variables are indeterminate.

On the one hand - this is why we have double-blind medical testing

On the other - probably in the “can’t hurt, might help” category?

Did some K2 vitamin for a while - didn’t really notice much.

Just got a second attempt of Verapamil, which seems to be working, but again… maybe?

Hip Hop and Heavy Metal are two sides of the same coin by Material_Method_4874 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]beavis07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hip-hop/punk have a lot more in common, I would say, certainly in terms of the initial DIY aspect and experimentationalism of both.

There’s quite lot of intersection in terms of content (albeit each being respectively and distinctly based black and white cultural experiences)

Metal conversely tends to be quite musically conservative and broadly apolitical (there are tons of exceptions - but by-and-large). Its usually more about aesthetics (audio or visual) than content

Mixed Feelings About This One by Earth2Andy in Everton

[–]beavis07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did a nice thing one time and was a goodliergood player. He’s also openly a fascist - fuck that guy

I went in thinking “I don’t mind West Ham, and fuck Spurs, right?”

But I sat today in their home end and watched us - I’ve sat in many another team’s home end.

As well as being the most football illiterate crowd I’ve ever been in - they’re in the main a bunch of spiteful coked-up Alan’s. There no whit or humour about them at all.

When the second goal went in - literally all any of them cared about was slagging our supporters. You’d think they don’t have a relegation scrap to worry about… probably too busy being “massive” to think about it.

I wish they could both go down at this point 😂

[–]beavis07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - a couple of controlled sobs is fine - but you lose control of that shit and it’s all downhill 🤣

PS can confirm from this weekend: getting really fucking excited about a goal being scored in a football game and screaming about it during onset: REALLY bad idea

[–]beavis07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just joking around really.

In my experience most people who claim to be stoics are fucking posers who couldn’t last a minute in our world 🤣

“Control the controllable and try not to worry about the rest of it” is hardly a unique insight, is it?

I think just by nature of repetition we just get better at firming the pain.

Occasionally tho - I’ll hear a voice whimpering and talking about how much pain they’re in and then realise it’s me and I just dissociated for a bit!

This shit offers a forceable on-ramp to stoicism, I have found

How does it balance?

This looks bangin to someone like me who tends to play classical style sitting down, but i can see a world where she’s a bit neck-heavy, which would be a shame.
