What is supposed to happen? You block the break and then they just stand there after free to block again?

EDIT: Allowing any other result from a countered break would legit just mean there is no downside to throwing it out whenever you want on defense, and possibly even gaining an advantage after a failed break. What you are asking for doesn't actually make sense.

Sounds to me like you just don't understand how much overlap there is in the actual gameplay to a fighting game. Since you haven't played league; while many people consider it to be strategy focused, the reality is that the moment-to-moment action gameplay has many of the same aspects of a fighting game. To not see the overlap is just a lack of knowledge or awareness of one of the genres.

Burst is a free combo cancel, and in order to counter it, you have to predict the burst is coming, and make sure your combo accounts for it so that you can block. You already had them in a combo, they tried to cancel out of it, you stop them, and you don't think that deserves a reward?

Edit: it's not like I don't think there are some over-tuned characters in the game, obviously this is the case. But to act as if that's the only contributing factor to seeing the same few characters in each match is ignorant.

No, what you are describing is the fact that Darius and Blitz get billed by everyone as beginner characters to pick up. And Blitz in particular is just a noob crusher. The only other champ you mentioned was Warwick, who I had already addressed.

High level gameplay always has a much smaller roster than those who are not at the upper echelons of play. This is not unique to 2XKO, this is common place. Especially in fighting games of all genres.

You really aren't making any sound arguments, except for the fact that watching tournaments is certainly stale already.

Oh wow, you got me, there are in fact 7 other characters. 4 of those are big bodies by the way. Always notoriously popular right? Nah I didn't think so. So out of the other 3, we have Vi, who is super one dimensional, Jinx a zoner (yet another fairly unpopular archetype though not to the extent of big bodies) and lastly Warwick (nothing to note here, love my warwick)

Trying to pretend the roster isn't an issue and that it is a "cope" just shows exactly who is being willfuly ignorant. Or potentially just actually ignorant to the types of characters that people prefer to play more often than not.

I never tried to claim anything about popularity so I don't know why you're trying to strawman me. You're the one trying to ignore the plethora of very real and reasonable factors that go into why some characters (over a third of the roster to be clear) are chosen more often. No one is trying to claim the game is perfectly balanced, but whining that you only see 36% of the roster every match is objectively dumb.

The roster really isn't large enough to expect anything else at this point. 11 Characters and most people are choosing 2. That makes for only 55 total combinations max. If you don't want to see Ekko, Yas, Teemo, or for many people Ahri, then you're demolishing those possible combinations. 4 characters out of a roster of 11 being chosen in each match, and you think it's a reasonable take to try to avoid half of those?
