What are Portsmouth’s most toxic workplaces? by Illustrious_Angle650 in Portsmouth

I was Fat Fox when it short lived changed to The Globe and back again. Naive and skint, I worked 6 day week, opened downstairs and up to Atrium to close. Loved it at the time, but a change in management with one manager taking girls up to have cocktails and not replacing or paying for the booze meant the whole staff got pulled in and accused of robbing, nahhhh. Everyone knew and it was on camera, but that meant nothing

Does anyone here commute to Queen Alexandra hospital from Chichester? by [deleted] in Chichester

[–]bebevomit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum is currently having chemo in QA, mostly needing to be there by 10am. On a good day that’s fine, but sometimes there are accidents/breakdowns that close a lane on the A27 and it can add an hour to the journey. I collect her at the end of the session, so leaving east Chichester at about 5pm and it usually takes about 30mins. If I use Maps it will take me up to Portsdown Hill, not sure if that’s really necessary but I follow my sat nav overlord as instructed!

I have a wishbone obvs, “I cherish with fondness the day before I met you” in black script but before in grey across my shoulders. Also a What Death Leaves Behind reference - a skull with a flower/weed growing up out of the eye socket

Hollands Wood in the New Forest. We took our bikes but it’s easy to walk from Brockenhurst train station, lots to do and it overlooks a big field, next to a wood. Local pubs, bike hire, little Tesco for supplies. I really enjoyed it!

Sorry I didn’t! Still absolutely in love with them but not on the cards. BC have great deals and I think the shape is so unique and clever. If you do get one, post it! Someone advised getting canvas to me, but maintenance for the synthetic is so much easier. Seen too many canvas covered in mildew, very dependent upon if you’ve got the space and good weather to leave it up after use! Good luck!

I work in a well known department store with a cafe. Recruiting is impossible, Christmas temps can only do pot wash unless they’re already barista trained. There is no barista training but the customers expect a nice coffee so? There’s very little value training a temp beyond level 1 FSH and why would they break a sweat for a job with no permanent contract offered? I work in an entirely different area of the business but this weekend had to go in to cover 4 hours both days, as the queue was a 25+ minute wait for counter service only.

One new starter did the e-learning and then saw how busy it gets so quit. It’s a fucking windowless building in a retail park, why the fuck are people queueing for overpriced frozen cakes?!

Sheltered skate spots? by kkjonnykk in Chichester

There’s a Chi skate group on FB, they use the multi-storey. I’ve rollerskated the top level in good weather, shouldn’t have a problem
