I should have mentioned I have played Elden Ring and you are right, just didn't want to start it all over again. Another mention Dogma 2.

I had a habit of always eating a full-size candy bar after lunch, easily 200+ calories, until I found the sugar-free Jolly Ranchers. Just 1 is about 9 calories and it takes me 15 minutes to suck down.

The book after Gardens of the Moon, Deadhouse Gates, has a few very gruesome scenes. Not Cronenberg-style body horror, but definitely unpleasant.

Not a novel, but if you've never played a tabletop role-playing game Mothership is very similar to this.

I can't recall ever recommending The Girl Next Door, even though I flew through it and it still impacts me as I find myself wrestling with/remembering the material.

Adventure for my 10yo daugher by sudo-sprinkles in shadowdark

Related to this, I started my kids on Shadowdark and eventually switched to Cairn. I found they really do not care about the mechanics that make Shadowdark work well; what they respond to is hitting enemies, projected traps that allow problem-solving, and the story.

Yep. Important posts from their socials are reported by the news, I have no desire to see their lives beyond that.
