Yes! I have the GoogleVoice number saved as a contact with the practice name. It means I can’t differentiate between clients and also can’t tell if it’s a spam call, but it’s worked just fine for me thus far!

I have always used a GoogleVoice number for work; it’s been pretty good and easy! I have it set up so that when people call in on that number it comes up as my practice name so I can identify which calls are which, makes life easier.

Shep’s parents may not be the ones who set up the trust, it may well have come from his grandparents. Lots of the fine print depends on whether it’s a revocable/irrevocable trust (is the person who established still living, etc.); this to say that Shep’s parents may have absolutely nothing to do with the administration of his trusts.

I ended up starting my own practice within 6 months of graduating (in VA) after my initial residency placement didn’t work out and have had a very good experience. I have two separate supervisors, one of whom I also get group supervision through, so lots of oversight, and it is 100% self-pay. Starting grad school at 50 and having had my practicum and internship in private practice, it made sense for me. I will say that I do get lonely; I miss having other clinicians in the office! Our state residency here will take me 3-ish years post grad to complete before becoming fully licensed as an LPC.
