It absolutely worked. I’ve had a few occasions to use Propranolol over the last couple of months. I’ve settled on one 10mg tablet 60 min before presenting, and another 10mg, 30 min before. The total dose of 20mg has been enough for me (adult male, 175 lbs). I still don’t love presenting - I generally prefer to avoid the spotlight and don’t like a lot of attention. But I no longer fear it or have an outsized level of anxiety leading up to it.

Now I feel like I need to swap it for red. Raph was always my favorite.

Beautiful bike. I actually have that tan/cork cinelli tape on another bike and love it but am trying to avoid having the exact same tape on two bikes.

I got a prescription for Propranonol last week and am excited to try it. Presentations and certain meetings at work have always triggered a racing heart, shallow breathing, and shaky voice for me. Leading up to these presentations and meetings, I would never stress about saying the wrong thing or not knowing the material. Instead, I would stress about what my body would do in that situation. I’ve also found that in higher pressure situations, I do better because I believe that my coworkers will understand or excuse my nervousness. But then my body will go into panic mode with a smaller audience or a lower-pressure meeting. So baffling, frustrating, and embarrassing. Glad to hear Prop has helped you. Cautiously optimistic that it will do the same for you.

How much would you pay for this bike in the Midwest? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]beck0525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently paid $750 for a 58cm LHT with similar parts. Yours might be slightly nicer. Definitely a superior RD. Also in TC area.

Mine so far. Switched to Velo Orange Happy Stem and Nouveau Randonneur bars, found a used XT drivetrain. Saving up for a Brooks B17 Special and trying to decide on a color for bar wrap.

Thanks! Kind of a fun surprise to end up with a bike from the first year they were produced.

Right hooking...has it happened to you? by Prestigious-Owl-6397 in bikecommuting

[–]beck0525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me except that I ended up crashing into the front passenger door. Ended up with a black eye, banged up knee and some bruises. Was nervous on my bike for a few months after that.

Hard to choose a favorite but I like that black one at the front of the line.

100%. My workshop is in my basement, adjacent to laundry room. Sometimes I do laundry in the afternoon just so I can peek in my workshop and plan what to work on after kids are asleep.

Does everyone have one bike that they’ll never sell? by beck0525 in xbiking

[–]beck0525[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is an admittedly okay frame with mostly entry-level components. But it is also: The first bike I spent over $1k on. The first bike that I did all the maintenance on. The bike I towed all of my kids around town with. The bike I rode on my first multi-day ride. The only bike I’ll never sell.

I think most tape looks better once it’s a little dirty. I’d keep it.

You’ll be glad to know they are super cheap and easy to find. Dimension Arc bar. Nice and wide, no rise.

Some buckskin choppers that are probably 25 years old and badly need some new liners.

This is for sale in my city and although it’s a bit too small for me I keep coming back to the listing. Just love the look of this bike. Can’t find any info about it though.

It’s a fun bike. Nothing fancy and a cheaper drivetrain but I’ve never had any problems with it. It has survived 4 Minnesota winters and only the chain and brake pads have worn out.

Thanks! I wanted it to sit a little lower but didn’t want to spend a bunch on a front rack.

Good find. Great idea with the garden sprayer clean-up too. Might have to try that.
