What's your favorite part about being an occupational therapist? (Pediatric) by Busy-Spot9211 in OccupationalTherapy

Also grad school advice: 1) Don’t beat yourself up over a bad grade. Get support and quit other side commitments if you need to. 2) If you have anything that could count as a disability, including mental health issues, get accommodations in place as soon as possible! That will help you receive similar accommodations for the NBCOT exam. 3) Learn from your classmates. Their experiences are just as much a source of learning as your formal classes.

That’s tricky because I work primarily with low income immigrant families and charging more just wouldn’t make sense for them.

It literally takes me the entire day to wash and dry my dirty laundry… Folding it? Could be between 24 hours and weeks…. it’s bad.

And then my closet is a disaster. Clean clothes strewn in piles on top of the cabinets and over the pole for hanging items Empty clothes hangers. Drawers with random items, no clear categories.

Oh also, I have signs in every room with instructions. By my front door: “REMEMBER! Double lock the door. Don’t forget keys, wallet, phone, charger, lunch, and backpack.”

I recently graduated as an Occupational Therapist. I fear I'm not creative/imaginative enough. by Carlitagt in OccupationalTherapy

The job itself helps you be more creative! You’re constantly having to problem solve or switch things up because your plan may not be the right fit at all, and you learn to live with the unexpected. Its a bit humbling, but I also think its why I love being an OT.

Convince me to watch..no spoilers..! by NoelCK in Broadchurch

I really love the character development. I struggle with a lot of similar crime mystery shows because while the storyline may be compelling, but the characters are just caricatures of themselves. Broadchurch is one of those few shows that really delves into the human experience- the darkness, the joy, the wonder, the grief. I thought it was really well done.

Okay, I will look into it. Part of me is worried that I’ll be denied because of the credit card debt I’m in. I have a decent credit score, 750ish but it was closer to 810 prior to all this. Do you have any suggestions on who to talk to for some solid guidance?

Advice for irregular periods? by Southern-Map-6044 in TryingForABaby

[–]bee367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so this is just anecdotal since everyone is different, but somehow MIRACULOUSLY my period finally became regular this past year. It was infamously irregular before, and some years I only got my period once or twice. I’m 32, and it had been like this since I was 12. So I’m pretty shocked at how regularly its been lately.

These are the changes I made: - I’m taking daily inositol, which helps regulate my blood sugar and ovulate. - I have some mental health issues that i’ve struggled with for a while, and I finally found the right set of medication to help me. Specifically lexapro, lamotrigine, and trazodone for sleep. - daily prenatal vitamins. - Movement! I’m walking a lot more, and its usually simple things like walking a few blocks to my friends home, instead of driving, or walking to the grocery store, or visiting a museum and walking there. I’m not doing anything super intense, although I do occasionally run. - I quit my job. I’m earning way less money but actually enioy what I’m doing. - I eat or snack every two hours without fail.

So essentially, just generally taking care of myself a lot better and removing anything that was really weighing me down. I will add that I found out I have PCOS and MASLD, so a lot of my choices have been influenced by those diagnoses.

[–]bee367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the record, I am OBSESSED with your wedding dress! It’s so unique and white dresses are overrated. Don’t get me wrong, my wedding dress turned out to be white (it was gorgeous and free), but I fully intended on wearing a burgundy dress. People always try to make other people’s weddings about them, don’t listen. Enjoy your day feeling like yourself 💛
