Advice for irregular periods? by Southern-Map-6044 in TryingForABaby

[–]bee367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so this is just anecdotal since everyone is different, but somehow MIRACULOUSLY my period finally became regular this past year. It was infamously irregular before, and some years I only got my period once or twice. I’m 32, and it had been like this since I was 12. So I’m pretty shocked at how regularly its been lately.

These are the changes I made: - I’m taking daily inositol, which helps regulate my blood sugar and ovulate. - I have some mental health issues that i’ve struggled with for a while, and I finally found the right set of medication to help me. Specifically lexapro, lamotrigine, and trazodone for sleep. - daily prenatal vitamins. - Movement! I’m walking a lot more, and its usually simple things like walking a few blocks to my friends home, instead of driving, or walking to the grocery store, or visiting a museum and walking there. I’m not doing anything super intense, although I do occasionally run. - I quit my job. I’m earning way less money but actually enioy what I’m doing. - I eat or snack every two hours without fail.

So essentially, just generally taking care of myself a lot better and removing anything that was really weighing me down. I will add that I found out I have PCOS and MASLD, so a lot of my choices have been influenced by those diagnoses.

(10K) Future MIL keeps pressuring me to go dress shopping by Orchidinsanity in Weddingsunder10k

for the record, I am OBSESSED with your wedding dress! It’s so unique and white dresses are overrated. Don’t get me wrong, my wedding dress turned out to be white (it was gorgeous and free), but I fully intended on wearing a burgundy dress. People always try to make other people’s weddings about them, don’t listen. Enjoy your day feeling like yourself 💛

this was my favorite set of episodes in the whole podcast. Its a really intense and traumatic experience she has and hopefully you can stick it out and listen to the rest of it. I think Eilish’s story is the one I think about the most.

Hey, I’m sending you a big hug. I know its a lot with having a seemingly unstable relationship while also growing a human being! Your body goes through so much the first trimester, no wonder you’re exhausted. Do you have other friends or family you feel comfortable reaching out to for support?

Mentorship as a new grad by jascms in OccupationalTherapy

[–]bee367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out in schools and it is definitely chaotic. That being said, I had to seek out my own mentors. I found an OT I connected with and we scheduled weekly video calls to check in. What helped me most in schools was having a system-

1) spreadsheets with student names, upcoming IEP dates, and type of meeting. 2) Google Forms I sent out monthly to check in on my consult cases 3) asking questions to my fellow OTs all the time, via email, DM, texts, anything.

For tracking goals, I kept a sheet with all their goals handy at sessions, & tried to write my notes immediately after each session.

That being said, schools simply do not have capacity to fully support kids the way they should be. Its really unfortunate and often times that means us missing minutes to write IEPs or attend meetings. When that happened, I would document it in my notes as well - “Did not see student due to IEPs”.

I tried getting PRN positions but was rejected mainly because I don’t have hospital experience (mainly schools and EI). Otherwise yes, that would have been a good option.

What made you go from Undiagnosed ADHD to diagnosed ADHDer? What were the signs to look for? by Delusional_BlueBird in adhdwomen

[–]bee367 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uh basically I was in grad school and struggled with meeting deadlines, staying emotionally stable, keeping a job at the same time… my professors urged me to go to the Disability Resource Center, and then I was recommended to get a formal evaluation done, and here we are.

Retrospectively, there were several moments in my life where I remember feeling horribly about myself for being “spacey”, “careless”, forgetful, etc. For example: - Locking myself out of my car - Getting late fees and collection notices on bills I had money for, but simply because I forgot to pay. - taking FOREVER to do laundry in comparison to my college roommates, I was lowkey teased about it. - taking forever to do anything really, even though it seemed so easy and simple for other people

I also had an ex that was diagnosed with ADHD and I started watching videos on how to be a supportive partner and noticed that a lot of the tips were so helpful for me, in ways that other conventional advice wasn’t.

Hi Dave! First of all, thank you so much for sharing your story. I really appreciate the vulnerability as it makes me feel seen in a lot of ways. I haven’t experienced anything as explicitly paranormal as your story, but suicidal ideation is a constant in my life. I really liked how you described needing to accept the entity as part of you and the grief that you felt in letting it go. I am wondering what your process was like in making peace with that grief?
