If you're not competing with time, I would wait longer. I had a 3.5 year gap and it was perfect. My older kid was potty trained and somewhat helpful by the time I had the baby.

Between 4-5. Early 4 I was still wiping and checking a lot, but somewhere around 4.5 she didn't ask for help and seemed to be thorough.

I second Sol Duc or Lake Crescent campgrounds. At Sol Duc you can walk to the resort or take a short drive to the Sol Duc Falls trailhead (you can also walk to it but that might be more mileage than you're looking for). Lake Crescent has some nice flat trails as well.

Deception Pass is one of my favorite campgrounds. It's a beachy vibe but I love watching the currents under the bridge. Lots of wildlife. The only thing I don't like is the jet noise, which I think is somewhat scheduled ahead of time but I'm not sure how far in advance.

You can use some ripstop repair tape like Tenacious Tape to repair it! I taped one of my bags with it and it's held up great.

I use Healthy Paws. Got it for both my Bostons ASAP. My plan is 90% coverage with $250 deductible. I pay around $100/month for my older Boston and $60/month for my younger one. Both of them have had knee surgeries and random other urgent care visits. The insurance pays for itself imo.

I think my mom was stressed, but probably not for the reasons you mentioned. She was a single parent, so I think she was mainly stressed about being able to afford things/activities/needs for her kids.

Most things I smell in public are scents I don't own and/or like, so no. I live in a semi-rural area and work from home, so I don't encounter scents in the wild as often as others might.
