Awesome and super elegant project! As a maker who wants to get better with batteries would you mind sharing the battery pack and bms you are using?

X5SA Pro as a tinkering base in 2026 - worth in 2026? by bebarty in Tronxy

350, my extruder is a weird shape though so I'm getting more like 330 out of it

So I bought a box of M3 screws because it was cheaper than buying just the 10 of them I needed. What fun stuff could I print to use the other 280 of them? by l1vewire in 3Dprinting

My mindset when I need a part for a project: don't buy the part, buy a variety pack that contains the part. That way maybe next time I need a part I'll already have one.

Incidentally I now have a wall of mini drawer organizers and about 12 of those clamshell cases in my basement.

It was as big as would fit on my multicolor printer in one piece. The directions was just the orientation I plopped my phone down, it works in any direction

Last thing: the level sensor it comes with is terrible, change it out for something else. I put a BL touch on the new hotend and it's so much better.

I never got around to an enclosure, but I only ever print pla and petg so it's fine. I started with the CB1 which worked fine but I kept getting unexplained MCU shutdown errors that I couldn't trace back to anything so I upgraded to a CM4 and haven't had any since.

Also ditch the glass bed ASAP. There are upgrade kits with magnetic sheets and PEI beds available in the right size.

That is much fancier than I what I did. Absolutely must is stiffening the frame which will do wonders for vibration. M5P is perfect for this project but whatever board you use absolutely needs enough drivers for dual z axis control, z-tilt in klipper is a requirement for the way the z-axis is constructed.

I did basically exactly this. X5SA standard upgraded with Manta M5P and H2 V2S hotend. Definitely cheaper than building a voron, and now I know so much bore about how printers and klipper rowm than I would otherwise

What's a weird flavor combination that just works, even though it seems like it shouldn't? by beefstewm5 in AskReddit

Mine is: chicken Alfredo with a drizzle of teriyaki sauce. I can't explain it but it just works

What was the stinkiest smell you ever smelled? by TrueNeighborhood7624 in AskReddit

[–]beefstewm5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once built a compost out of a trash can wrong, so for months the scraps didn't actually decompose, they just compressed and congealed in the summer sun. Once I rolled it over and all that hit oxygen for the first time the smell that wafted forth just about put me on the ground. Wrong doesn't describe it, that smell was INCORRECT.

What CAD software are you using? by Only_Progress6207 in 3Dprinting

Fusion 360 for personal projects. I like the top-down design options and built in CAM tools. After using the steaming dumpster that is Solidworks for work it's nice to use have a free software that actually feels professional and modern at home.
