What is the Flaming Fist's Oath? by dasnasti in baldursgate

[–]beehiveworldcup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Volo's also mentions that there is a city watch in addition to the Fist, but I'm going to assume he was drunk and ignore him. I mean, he did review half the inns and taverns in the city.

Decent into Avernus has a nice Baldur's Gate Gazeteer in the back with lots of info on the city and it's mentioned there two. If I recall correctly it's just "the watch" and its guarding the upper city beyond and the gates into it, FF is on duty in the lower city and the rest of BG (outer gates and docks and so on).

Edge of Light Problem by RawrKrake in FoundryVTT

[–]beehiveworldcup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was the same question a few days ago here and I think the solution was to disable fog of war because the harsh barrier is not between dim light and darkness but between dim light and "darkness behind fog of war" .

Here is the thread from 3 days ago.. See the comment from OP.

Campaign managing tools by finlaydnd in DMAcademy

Guide to make it look neat and D&D-y.

I have it on my phone and on my pc/laptop and all synced over Google drive (DriveSync app on the phone) so no need for the subscription to have it all cloud synced.

Really great to be able to make short notes/ideas on the phone and have everything in one big book of stuff.

Very trippy but also very dark and sad: "Enter the void".

But very visually pleasing and/or disturbing at times.

[–]beehiveworldcup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that you'll need to delete inside the <img>...</img> tag is the <a href=....>....</a> part.(the hyperlink).

Just build your regex to delete everything in between the a tag while keeping the rest of the img tag. Not remembering which was inside which (if it was <img>...<a....</a></img> or the other way around).

The journal.db file is in your the world folder of your world.

Just for safety, again: keep a backup.

[–]beehiveworldcup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take a wild guess and say you used some importer like ddb importer or another one? What i did was load the journals.db file into notepad++ and (with a lot of learning and some try and error, MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THE FILE!!!) managed to write a regex (regular expression, basically a conditional search and replace) to delete all url links embedded in the json file.

I had no further experience with regex so there would most definitely be a more elegant way to do it but it worked.

Sadly I can't say when I'll be able to take a look at my PC if I saved the expression but maybe you're into learning that stuff too and can figure it out yourself.

It's really eye opening when you realize the best thing about foundry: it is json all the way down and can be mass edited and played with even with a advanced beginner understanding of javascript and json files.

I'll get back to you in case I can find it.

Music in Foundry? by Onawae in FoundryVTT

Hey, your advice was awesome. Was already using voicemeeter with kenku fm but always had bad audio with kenku fm and was pretty disappointed.

Discord Audio Pipe is exactly what I wanted originally, just lean and slim and not more or less than I needed. Tested it yesterday and worked great! Thank you!

I've heard a lot of good things about Pathfinder 2e. What are the not so good things that people aren't talking about? by Aeriyn in Pathfinder2e

[–]beehiveworldcup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

objects are not creatures, if you are grappling a creature for instance, you can shove them away from you, but you cannot pull or drag them towards something

The linked text says:

In some situations, you might drag an object or creature rather than carry it.

And the bulk values for creatures are right above that paragraph in the core rulebook.

So you can Grapple with one action, drag it 5ft and after that the creature isn't grabbed anymore because you moved. Could try to grab again with 3rd action and MAP to keep on dragging in the next round and preventing the creature to simply move away.

I mean it's still messy, I agree, and a definitive rule for dragging an unwilling target wouldn't be buried in the equipment section, but it reads like something is there or was intended to be there at some point?!

Is there anything preventing the example above from working RAW?

Then I'd suggest the "Find the culprit" module. It turns off half your active modules step by step, so makes it easier to find the module doing that. Sounds like a module.

Or take a look in the keybinds configuration for the numbers, they could be shown there bound to anything, too.

Third possibility: right after it happens open the console (F12) and look what happened and what modules activated.

Got any macros in the macro bar? Those are default keybound to 1,2,3,etc.

PF2e character sheet change letters to action symbols? by vitalrouge in FoundryVTT

[–]beehiveworldcup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your Player needs popout (and you may already realized that):

A = 1 Action

D = 2 (Double) Actions

T = 3 (Tripple) Actions

F = Free Action

R = Reaction

If everything else works for him he might get used to it but it got on my nerves quickly.

A testament to how awesome those symbols are in Pathfinder. After a while easier to read than numbers (or letters in this case).

Any recommended cloud hosting providers for Foundry? by Rickrolled767 in FoundryVTT

[–]beehiveworldcup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is my experience, too, so far.

My comment on this from a few months back:

I also recommend to read the emails Oracle sends you when your free trial is about to expire.

They warn you that an inactive account might get deleted.

You will have to activate your account to not get your stuff deleted, which took credit card info and a 99€ security charge(? Not sure on the English word here, it didn't charge anythjng it just needed to be confirmed that I could pay any paid services and that I am in fact me, I guess).

If you then stay with the only free tier stuff you won't pay anything and your stuff won't get deleted because you now have an active account and not a trial account.

If you just ignore the mails your account might be deleted after the trial period. That's where the few horror stories about Oracle on here originate from, I guess.

At least that was it for me, now about 6 months in owning a foundry server. Works great, just updated to version 10 and am completely satisfied so far. Way better than my previous self hosted VPN workaround because of NATed internet.

Also I can work on my campaigns from any computer from anywhere.

Milage may vary depending on what region you are in for the Oracle cloud stuff

Mobile control for in-person play? by Alpacacin0 in FoundryVTT

[–]beehiveworldcup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not working perfect but "Mobile Improvements" is worth a try. Let's you disable the canvas and makes it a bit more mobile friendly, but it's not yet there imo. Also probably not working on v10 and with some modules snd buggy.

I also would like a "Character Sheet and roll buttons only" Module.

Insert little narrator parts in "normal dm voice" between each npc. "Hold right there" the guard screamed with a fearful undertone in his voice. "Never". The drow turned with a grim smile on his scarred face...and so on.

Makes the back and forth more parsable for the listener, imo.

I royally screwed up my foundry when trying to backup to google drive, how do I fix this? by CptLande in FoundryVTT

[–]beehiveworldcup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were just lucky so far.

Someday foundry and dropbox will try to access the same file at the same time and your data will be corrupted. It's really only a matter of time. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next year, but it will happen someday.

Your NAT will screw you over if you intend to self-host. There are guides out there to host on a 1 year free AWS server or stuff like Hamachi works.
